Haven't seen Regulus around here in ages.

Last time he was here was just before Christmas in 2018.

I hope he's OK, though we did give him a little bit crap over a couple of things.

Looking at his posts, he cut the cable cord before it was really mainstream. He has a big DVD collection to boot.

I cut the cable in June of 2003.

Haven't paid a dime to watch TV in over 17 years.

Everytime I think of how much money I've saved, I smile a gloating, self-satisfied smile of smug superiority.

We still have Dish, but we're thinking about finally cutting the cord and going with Hulu.

He was able to see all of these roller coasters, find all of the free food.  Yet he could not show a picture he could not show a picture of the eclispe.

Aren't you the one who posted that video the last time, or was it Regulus himself?

His last post here was Dec. 2018.

I checked his Facebook page and his last post there was in September of 2017.

Maybe he and PaWolf are hanging out together....

I tried looking him up, too. Some guy with the same name and from the same town died in 2011. I couldn't find any 2018 obit with that name and town.

I saw that 2011 obit too.

There was another one from near there but the guy was born in 1928.

Reg has himself listed as being born in 1959 here.

I just don't imagine any CIH regular just leaving the forum, never to even visit...unless something life-changing happened.

I see Nite Raidah here on occasion. Not sure why he logs in, considering he doesn't post. At least we know he's not dead.

We might have hurt Regulus' feelings.

A couple of us mocked him a little and challenged some of his claims.

It was back during the last solar eclipse.

Ad Nauseous is another user that stopped appearing here suddenly. I wonder what happened to him?

Maybe Ad N is having problems with his AdeNoids .....

Sorry about that. Embarrassed

LOL

Sacrificial Anode

Sacrificial Anodes are highly active metals that are used to prevent a less active material surface from corroding. Sacrificial Anodes are created from a metal alloy with a more negative electrochemical potential than the other metal it will be used to protect. The sacrificial anode will be consumed in place of the metal it is protecting, which is why it is referred to as a "sacrificial" anode.

Metal in seawater is one such example with the iron metal coming into contact with electrolytes. Under normal circumstances, the iron metal would react with the electrolytes and begin to corrode, growing weaker in structure and disintegrating. The addition of zinc, a sacrificial anode, would prevent the iron metal from "corroding". According to the table of Standard Reduction Potentials, the standard reduction potential of zinc is about -0.76 volts. The standard reduction potential of iron is about -0.44 volts. This difference in reduction potential means that Zinc would oxidize much faster than iron would. In fact, zinc would oxidize completely before iron would begin to react.
