Most are stuck at the lower levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs - they're all about the money and what they can get - most have NO idea of what kind of 'footprint', or improvement they wish to make on this planet. They only care about themselves and their immediate families. They learn to measure success by money and acquisitions and miss the whole game. It isn't and never has been about the money and thus they'll never get anywhere and are doing little more than breathing our air and taking up valuable space. Those breathing bags of flesh and water are perfect candidates to become the food product, 'Soylent Green'. Because of these types, I do support euthanasia and sometimes, youth in Asia.

Schools these days.
Some years ago I was on assignment in Research Triangle Park and that meant we got to head out to the North Carolina Coastline for sun & fun as often as we wished. It also means I decided I wanted a bean burrito from Taco Bell on the way. Stopped in a small town that actually had a drive through with the LED price read-out at the window. Nobody else wanted anything, so it was a simple 99 cents. Young black girl at the drive-through window took my dollar for a 99 cent item and then proceeded to appear really confused. She was counting on her fingers and looking at her change drawer. "The correct change would be one of those little brown coins with the guy sporting a beard...". The poor girl thanked me - what a sweetheart! What an idiot. Having said that, this sort of ignorance has no boundaries. Up at the Canadian border, I had a lot of fun with Kennedy Half Dollars. I would buy rolls at the bank every week, just to spend them and mess with people's minds - a harmless and fun thing to do when you are bored...for example, I went into a Wendy's for a burger and paid with 50-cent pieces. The girl at the counter got REALLY CONFUSED and called her other co-worker over. "Now, just what am I supposed to do with those?!".  After some explanation, one of the girls looked at the bust of Kennedy and, without even being in the land of the 'Valley Girls', actually said "Who is that guy? He's kind of cute! Is he single?". Clearly today's educators have decided American History - and maybe History in general, along with Cursive Writing holds any value in today's world. Enough said...we're doomed.

I have sadly encountered young cashiers with no clue how to make change when the 'change due' function on the register is broke. Also those unable to find a picture "button" for a limited time special advertised on large posters inside the fast food place. The supervisor I requested had to introduce the young counter guy to the 'special button' which displayed the pictures. A couple years ago I was watching a documentary of the M1-Abrams main battle tank. They were demonstrating the 120mm main gun 'gunner' position. The M1 has a rotary magazine allowing the gunner to quickly select the type of ammunition required. The demonstration had the tank commander ordering a High Energy Anti-Tank (HEAT) round. The gunner replied "roger HEAT" then pushed the 'button' on his touch screen, retrieved the appropriate round, and loaded it, announcing "ready HEAT". The alternate dialog running through my head was: "Roger HEAT. Would you like to Super Size that"? Or much worse. I'm sorry sir. That doesn't appear to be on the menu! "Idiocracy" is high on my list of "most disturbing" films. It should be required viewing for 9th grade high school freshmen. Of course that could seriously deplete the useful idiot worker drones required for the 'New World Order'! Set in 2505. I'm afraid it is already happening.

The cashier-in-training at Ace a few weeks ago was pretty dumb about making change.  The purchase was for $1.47.  I gave him $5.47.  He kept trying (and insisting) that the change due back was $3.00.  Fortunately the trainer was there to correct him (he was even arguing with her.)  Ermm
I eventually got my $4 back...

Are we allowed to say "freshmen" anymore?  Shouldn't it be "freshpeople"?

Let me guess, JLH routinely beats up guys twice her size, right? Gives them a tough, mean, bad-ass scowl and no matter how hardened of a criminal he is, they get all scared etc.

I like the Brit cop shows, though the newer ones are getting almost as bad.

Won't even watch anything that comes out of Hollywood anymore.

If you want a Brit cop show worth its weight in gold (but I think it may have already run its course), check out 'LUTHER'...INCREDIBLE cop show!
Look it up on Youtube, or your library - some episodes and the movie are available. If you find it in the library, the second series (season 2) is armchair white-knuckle gripping...and 'Alice' is simply not a nice person.
Here's the 'comic relief' skit from the show - something totally unexpected.

I don't know why these people pick on me, maybe because I usually pick up and mess with them.

Credit Card Services is one thing, over and over and over again! They have been calling for years.

But now! I think it's the product of the ACA being dismantled, constant freaking calls from some health insurance provider.  They try to sound a little more legit than CCS's.  They give at least a first name, some bogus name for this fraudulent company. Last night, I was just starting to fall asleep and I hear my phone.

NOW I'M PISSED, MOTHERF*CKERS BARGING INTO MY HOME TO RIP ME OFF!!!

I keep looking for more deviant, sinister ways to keep them on the line.  Just so I can give an equally and downright mean view of his career choices and family values.  I should give up my phone...If you need to reach me, call my wife!

Phony calls about health insurance

Robocalls can be more annoying than a lingering head cold. Recently, some people got robocalls that seemed to be about health insurance and the Health Insurance Marketplace, but the calls were a con. The callers were phishing for personal information. People who work in the Marketplace don’t make cold calls, and they never ask for personal information. If you get a call like this, hang up.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with the the Luther series. They ran through them all on one of our local PBS stations about 2 or 3 times before finally replacing it.

I liked it a lot at first, but after awhile, it just started getting a little too weird for me.

Something I think you would really enjoy is a series called "Dominion Creek". It was produced by an Irish company under the original title "An Klondike".

Set in the Yukon territory during the gold Rush, three Irish brothers venture there to work a claim passed on to them by an uncle who had mined enough gold to retire on.

It's about as raw and unflinching as TV gets. The promise of gold and riches attracted some very bad people to a stinking, muddy, disease-ridden hell hole called Dominion Creek.

In this scene, a territorial judge and his assistant who were coming to town to oversee the trial of a well connected sleazeball for murder, meet up with two very bad guys who were hired to intercept them, then assume their identities, with the intent to throw the trial in the defendant's favor.

What pisses me off...Round 2

Our Sprint bill has gone up over 10 bucks over the past few months?  Today, I called them. Angry

Is this one of the worst things in life? Dealing with some customer service agency?

I was put on hold, TWICE!  For more than 10 minutes.  I was surprised, a well spoken american guy actually called me back and switched me to a foreign f*ck I couldn't even understand.

Hello consumer cellular, we owe 4 payments on the wife's iPhone.

F*CK SPRINT!!

I think the assessor's office is telling me..."Rude to one of our agents? We'll show you!"  Angry

The land and house has increased in value by $31,500 since the last assessment in 2004.

This could mean one of two things.

An increase in the selling price over what we paid back in 2006?

A big fat property tax increase?

Since it seems unlikely we could sell this place before the next tax payment is due, I think we are screwed.

Ever have one of those days? I am!  It's much cooler, the mosquitoes are still bad.

I started scraping the other side of the deck, I'm using a 4 inch scraper.  The wood is not in as good of condition as the right side. It's directly under a tree so it holds more moisture through the day.  The blade grabs a hold of things more often, my hand slides down the handle and cuts 2 fingers, 3 times!  The last one was pretty deep too, a lot of blood. I wash the wounds, dry them and put on a few Bandaids.

I'm not done! A little pain never bothered me anyway. I start scraping again...I have this very handy little creeper/stool combination. There's a padded area for my knees and I lay on my belly. Perfect for scraping and painting!

Well, long story short. One of the wheels broke off of my roller stool.  I gonna have to fix it, somehow!

HAH!  I FIXED IT!!  I took one of the other wheels, one that is not on the ground, and moved it.  The wheel mount didn't actually break, it just fell apart. The missing part is probably still out there on the deck.

It's a long threaded sleeve that fits through the metal frame.  Big smile

Insatiable greedy bass turds. Mo money, mo money, mo money!!! It is never enough. Every year there was a property tax levy on the ballot. Usually for schools. "It's for the children". When after a few years of this it became obvious most of the school levy money was not being spent on schools the voters started voting NO. They thought they found a way around that by threatening to not fund high school sports. Fortunately those who were not sports fans still voted NO. They switched to levies (mo money) that was "needed" to continue emergency services (police, ambulance, and fire). Fortunately the majority of voters had gotten wise to their BS. About 2 decades ago the county were I lived decided to increase revenue by raising the percentage per $1,000 on property taxes by as much as 5%. The state informed them the limit was 1% per year. They countered by re-assessing properties with a 25% increase. Of course it was done with the stroke of a pen not actual assessors going door to door. The state countered by informing the counties that since they now had much more than enough money to function they no longer needed state financial subsidies. An immediate end to that nonsense.

My city has decided to tack a $78 fee per year on each property to pay for street lights (something the power company has always taken care of.)  Supposedly this is for upkeep and improvements, but it came out that they really wanted the money to install new lights for their pet "new town center" project.  None of the current city council who voted for it are running for re-election, so it also smacks of an "eff you!" gesture as they leave office.  Good riddance...

I'll certainly look for 'Dominion Creek' - thank you.
I used the get regular live views of the real world that inspired 'Luther' - there are some REAL sick bastards out in the world and running into them or their handiwork first-hand will change you and when it does, no matter what happens from then on, you will never escape it and it will always find you. It is as if you gain another level of vision & hearing/perception clarity - one you never asked for, one that will never leave you. I enjoyed it at the time, but the Missus did not (why re-live it all?). Nowadays?
I'm no longer sure what I enjoy watching.

I wised up years ago re all the ballots and propositions and initiatives and votes to raise taxes in order to improve education for kids.  Seems education was never showing any improvement...while teachers' pensions were.

Angry People that will NOT answer a simple question...………….

You ask "Is it YES or NO?" or "Was it black or white?" or "Paper or Plastic?"

And they gone on for 1/2 an hour about how they colored a fish last week.

In then end you have to ask again. And maybe again...…. And you may STILL not get the answer.Angry

Mama has had a busy weekend. She attended another 'market' thing yesterday morning, it was an October Fest thing yesterday evening. She didn't get home till midnight.

Today, she was going to share babysitting duty with her oldest daughter, who cancelled. The younger daughter and her SO are going to the Brewers game. That's a long day (about 8 hours) of sitting when she's already tired.

Ultimately! I went to f**king McDonalds this morning to get a sandwich for later.  This guy with a high school voice tells me..."We're not serving lunch."   Why not?  I say.  "We are short on staff."

I wanted to say.  Call your f*cking manager and get some more people in here you f*cking idiot!  I just spun my tires right in his ear!  Then, here I'm going have to settle for a stinky convenience store sandwich.  A spicy chicken sandwich, I quit buying this crap for a reason.  Then, and here is the irony of today.  I like a little mayo on my chicken sandwich.  I check the 'best if used by' date.  10-01-18.  Go figure!  If my hip bone doesn't sever my femoral artery, this old mayo may kill me!

Last week, I needed to put some gas in my truck. There is a spring loaded door over the gas cap.  I heard a 'pop'.  Sum-bitch!  If I drive down the highway, at higher speeds, the door opens up.  This is almost as bad as driving with your turn signal on.  I had to do something! I have a big bag of rubber bands in the garage, it worked pretty well!  There is a hook on the gas cap door, wrap a rubber band around the cap and attach it to the hook. Easy peazy, afro engineering. Tongue

Or...I could buy the part to fix it! Confused

I cannot deal with unnecessarily loud yawns. I don't know why, but it REALLY gets my blood boiling, especially at work, because I work in a community workspace.

You're tired. We're all tired. No need to draw attention to yourself about it.
