Has ANYONE ELSE been raped by the new TLC '2012 Holiday Season Special' commercial, starring our very own favorite child from the inbred trailer park, 'Honey Boo Boo'?
I swear - it leaves you shivering and shaking your head and begging for no more, please thank you very much!
I'm shuddering as I type this, I tell ya.
I CANNOT find the commercial - and you are indeed welcome.
Remember - I saved you first!

I watched a few minutes of Honey BooBoo recently while flipping through channels. It left me thinking how the hell can anybody watch a whole episode of this sh*t, let alone watch it more than once? Then it occured to me, people watch the circus too. Some people are awwed by the mystifying feats of magic, the daring acrobats, or the strange beasts from far away lands. Others just like to laugh at clowns.

So, let me see if I get this straight, TLC, the so-called "The Learning Channel" made a holiday special featuring Honey Boo Boo. Okay, one thing. WHAT THE HELL IS TLC DOING MAKING A HOLIDAY SPECIAL WITH HONEY FREAKING BOO BOO!!!! I mean, good god, Honey Boo Boo is annoying already and a holiday special is ten times worse. I watched five minutes of the show recently and I said to myself, "Why the f**k do people spend their time watching this s**t! She's not talented, her family are annoying f**ks and dear god, that stupid belly thing she does. It's so freaking stupid. Anyone who is dumb enough to watch this must think grass is friggin' purple!" Okay, this was a bad idea on so many levels and one more thing... WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH FREAKING LEARNING!!! In all honesty, TLC is a disgrace of a channel and this just turned it into a flaming t**d. If you're learning anything from TLC, you're learning how to be a friggin' moron. Shame on you TLC, shame on you. I hope you die when Discovery finally realizes you're not teaching people good things, but rather bad things. I'm done with my little rant, just thought I would pitch in and contribute my two cents on what a bad idea this is.

you mean the same discovery channel that airs shows A Haunting, Alien Planet, American Casino, American Chopper, American Guns, American Hot Rod, Auction Kings, Beachbody, Bering Sea Gold, Brew Masters, Canada's Worst Driver, Canada's Worst Handyman, Cash Cab, Chop Shop, London Choppers, Deadliest Catch, Designer Guys, Explosions Gone Wrong, Fast 'n' Loud, Firehouse USA: Boston, Ghosthunters, Ghost Lab, Gold Rush, Gutbusters, Hogs Gone Wild, It Takes a Thief, Licence to Drill, Little Parents, Big Charlie, Lobster Wars, Miami Ink, Monster Garage, Monster House, Moonshiners, One Car Too Far, Overhaulin, Pitchmen, Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science, The Science of Sex Appeal, Storm Chasers, Stunt Junkies, Swamp Brothers, Swamp Loggers, Texas Car Wars, Unchained Reaction, Verminators, and Wreckreation Nation? somehow i dont think they are going to have a problem with reality shows. |

Apparently, The Learning Channel "learned" that people would rather watch reality crap like this. It's not their fault; it's our fault for teaching them that. It's our collective fault for having bought into all the reality stuff. We, the people have spoken.

When the CANCER that is "Unscripted" TV Shows (That's "Reality" Shows for those of you in Rio Linda!) began infesting the Broadcast Networks The Discovery Channel. The Learning Channel and The History Channel were "Havens" from these kinds of programming, but alas, it was not to last. Now all they show is "Reality" Shows and "Paid Programming". Well, as most of you know, I found another "Haven", one that the "Reality" Plague will never infest. |

Are you friggin' kidding me?! A show about funerals now?! Oh dear god, what is the world coming to. It seems as though the dead can't have any peace or respect because of all this trash on TV! I hope this gets cancelled very and I do mean VERY quickly.

Right now it's been delayed till January because of the CT shooting, but my god. I don't even know what to say about the show itself. I run a production company and have actually had a few projects rejected for being too intelligent. Not to mention names, but one company who rejected an idea who told me that they were looking for more Jersey Shore shows ended up going with a "reality" show about Polyamory. TV as a whole is going down the tube and TLC is leading the charge.

Damn right they are, them and all their nonsensical "reality" show. They are as real as six thousnand year old bread. But, seriously they all need to go crawl in a hole and DIE! Maybe then we can all feel like this again once all they have died.

Yeah, Animal Planet has gone straight down the crapper too. Nat Geo Wild is still pretty good if you want to just see footage of animals in the wild, outside of all the repeats of Dog Whisperer. |

Oh come now! Meerkat manor doesn't need to be on that list.
I enjoyed that as a kid (It started Airing when we were in Vegas, I think, so...2004-5ish). It feels more along the lines of Milo and Otis, or La Marche De L'Empereur (The beautiful original version, not the disgusting abortion with a black man drek we got in America) than simple Reality T.V. Following the natural behaviour of animals, and adding a simple story to it that makes understanding their hierarchy and minglings, and attitudes easier in an entertaining way. If it were a bunch of random animals, I'd dislike it, but since it IS following a pack-family type of animal, I feel that it does a good job of taking a real element in nature, and making it something that young and old can both enjoy without it necessarily feeling like a drawn out documentary. |

As a skater, I've found another abomination from The LOSER Channel: Jersey on Ice.
Here's what some REAL skaters (and people from the REAL skating community) had to say about it: |

The article isn't clear as to whether or not they take the body out of the casket for these activities. If they did, I might watch.
My 11y/o and 8/yo neighbors and I recently came across a squirrel that had just been hit by a car and had run to the sidewalk. We stayed with it till it died (they even made me call Animal Control to try to save it). Anyway, after about 15 minutes, the poor little thing croaked. The kids wanted to bury it, so I dug a hole on the side of my house. But before I tossed him in the hole, I stood him up on his hind legs, grabbed his little hands, and had him do a dance. The kids loved it. Then, I buried it.

*I* think it is in REALLY BAAAD TASTE to talk about Funerals and Honey Boo Boo in the same thread.
I know, BOTH shows are on TLC and one will probably be scheduled right after the other.
(Kind of like 'American Restoration' and 'Pawn Stars' on the History Channel)
It is funny, but in pretty poor taste.
Honey Boo Boo prolly say, "Ewe shu be ashayd o'yer baad o'sef! - 'speshully a'KrisMus!" <honk>
