She lived a long and amazing life, full of song, dance and television work. Will be dearly missed by all of us.

Just read that.

When I was a kid, she was the first woman I remember seeing on TV who made me "take notice".

RIP DD.

RIP and thanks for my boring youth.
She liked dogs a lot.
Didn't she have a kid out of wedlock before she was 20 and already been married a few times?
My parents were huge Doris Day fans and I would run away when those albums were played or the movies were watched...and that turned me into the 'Black Wolf of the Family'.

She had an interview with the Hollywood Reporter five weeks before her death. Mentioned her animal foundation and Calamity Jane being her favorite movie.

She was an American icon. She portrayed the role of goody-two-shoes for her entire career.
I wasn't a fan of her acting/singing career, but I loved her dedication to abolish cruelty to animals.
