In case you watched the 30 second version during the game, and it made ZERO sense to you: Here is a one-minute version of HomeAway's Super Bowl ad.



The 30-second version, which will air, has been edited to within an inch of its life. It makes virtually no sense.

The opening slate reading "Ministry of Detourism" is gone,
so when the guy says "Detourism", you can't understand what he says.

When the guy says "hotels hate your guts" the shot is no longer of his face,
so you can't see his lips, and again, it's hard to understand what he's saying with all the music and noise.

The close up of the sign that says "Hotel Room Simulator" is also gone, so you have no clue what it is you're looking at.

The phrase "Test Baby" is now a superimposed caption with a voice over, which feels out of place and the joke doesn't land.

Next year, HomeAway, splurge for the full minute of airtime, or have a less complicated concept for your ad.
