MissyD*itch just passed by and turned on "JAIL-BAD GIRLS", then walked out the door.
She hates me.
"Behave yourself!", as she marched out the door after getting called in for what looks like an 11-hour evening.
WHY do *I* wanna watch this crap? I DO NOT like watching ignorant people getting busted, especially when they're all screwed up...

In my opinion, probably the most disturbing 2-part show I've seen on T.V. (for maybe the umpteenth time) - Criminal Minds, "The Longest Night", which starred Tim Curry as 'Billy Flynn - The Prince of Darkness', an old serial killer. The show started at the end of Season 5 and picked up to start Season 6.
This is a mentally-cruel story, only one Curry could pull off correctly - especially his last lines (below) as he talks of his own mother. As much as I always have a hard time watching this story, I absolutely love it, however MissyDWolf doesn't like this one so much; brings back too much of the past. She is an absolute master when dealing with mental deviates, both by nature and (as with both of us) by professional training.
Particularly ultra-violent, it could readily have been made into an 'R'-rated movie.
~~~
the infamous 'final exchange'
~~~
Morgan: It's over Flynn. Billy: Five years ago, I would've just killed you right there in that bedroom. Morgan: You couldn't. Billy: Couldn't? Morgan: I'm not afraid of you. Billy: You really think that matters that much to me? Morgan: Then shoot me. Go ahead. Shot me. You can't do it. I studied guys like you for a living I know more about you than you know about yourself. Billy: Well you may not be afraid, but they are. Morgan: You point that gun at them and I will kill you, and that is another promise. Billy: My mother used to dance with me. You know who Cyd Charisse was? She kinda looked like her. Morgan: Put the gun down and get up. Billy: When I shot her, she looked at me with such, she was, I think relieved. I think I helped her escape. Was that really true or, or did I just imagine it, to make killing her easier to live with? Did I help her escape? Did I, set her free? Morgan: Is that what you think you've been doing all these years? Helping people Billy: Well no I suppose not. Do you believe in Heaven? Morgan: This is your last chance. Billy: Do you think I might see her there? Maybe get a second chance? I'd really like that.
<Morgan ensures Billy then gets his wish to go meet Mommy in style>

"American Gangster" episode about Chaz Williams - '50 Cent's' promotor and all-around bad guy - starring none other than Chaz Williams telling the world how he made a few youthful mistakes, but other than that, he's a shining example for today's youfs...
(note: the Feds have him up for about 60 sort-of slightly-unsolved bank robberies, but, well...he didn't do 'em, doncha know, except when he needed to 'meet his needs' for family & friends, and, well, the gov't was blowing away the 'Black Panthers', anyway - so why NOT play 'Robbing Hood'? ...)

Watching the season finale of 'Justified'; Raylan & his very preggo and very estranged wife just 'blew away 'Santa's Elves'! It was SO DAMNED VIOLENT, yet SO FUNNY!
(it is the final part where the almost-dead gent says something about "Let's talk about not making this a lot worse...")
I'd say it was pretty unrealistic if I DIDN'T know my own wife....

...currently watching 'Cash Cowboys' (the Canadian version of 'American Pickers').
This show is just a lot of fun, but these 'pickers' just don't get anywhere near as dirty as the Americans. They also never spend anywhere near as much money, yet snatch stuff just as good.
The places they go - the scenery, the findings - are great.
The fact one of the 'Pickers' has one of my 'bad habits' (always shopping for the most atrocious, crappy, cheap gift available for a loved one), always gives me new ideas.
A lot of the old signs they buy tend to have been shot, more than likely by accident (imagine, way back when it occurred - "...ohhhh! This is a GUN!...").
The Calgary accents are a real hoot, too.

STILL watching 'Cash Cowboys'. This Canadian-version of 'American Pickers' is SO MUCH better than 'American Pickers'; not only are they picking neat and odd items ANYONE can afford, they also run across some that simply will drop you from your chair (and these two are awfully funny, to boot!).
I'm still beside myself after they were in Winnipeg and found an ornately-framed large color photo of Elvis, near 'The End of Days'.
Elvis is wearing a shiny, turquois suit and appears about 300 pounds - and it is REALLY him.
They found it in a flea market.
There was a huge argument about 'Fat Elvis' that was so damned funny that I was in tears and even had to leave a call. I was on.
Wouldn't you know they find a 'Pee Wee Herman' treasure and decide to explain to the common viewers how popular Pee Wee was before he got caught in a "very unfortunate situation in a movie theater"... and listening to Scott Cousin's CowTex-Calgary accent explain this was simply hilarious.
Some things are just plain and straight funny...and a lot of things are simply amazing. You get a lot of both way up in the GWN.

Dammit the choices are few and far between.
Assasination of Jesse James is on right now.
Sometimes I find a movie that looks good from the discription, then I see it's closed caption in French.
I don't have time to read a movie. Sundance has a series that is CC also.
Sometimes I go ahead and turn on some premium channels this time of year.
Less commercials helps too.

Maybe it's because I had the good fortune of being raised by a hearing impaired mother, but I've never had any issue with subtitles, be it for a foreign-language or native-language. It's not distracting, and I think oftentimes it aids getting more involved in the movie.

At the very least I like to use it as a failsafe. I can listen certainly, but if a line comes up I can't understand, or a strange word, It's easy to glance up, read the subtitles, and go, "ah, that's what they said."
Considering how many people have posted on forums making whole discussions, theories, etc. on misheard phrases, I think this is at least one good use for subtitles.

Flipped over to the H2 (History 2) channel - now watching how the 1960's 'Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll' destroyed Calvanism, but (to be Prez) Jimmy Carter tried to save the world, or at least the U.S., via supporting and preaching the Evangelical/Baptist ways...and how 'Darwanism' comes into play...and, for anyone NOT watching - it is unbelievable where they've taken it, but I'm SURE WE are bound for hell, now...

Finished Time of the Doctor...it was brilliant. The regeneration was excellent, and the farewell a fitting tribute to eleven without being disgustingly sappy, over the top, and destructive like....a previous someone...
Watching the Christmas special for Australian show, "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" now.
EDIT: Finished MFMM's "Murder Under The Mistletoe" Equally brilliant, and I'll definitely be watching the rest of the show (Two series to watch). It includes a very clever use of the "12 nights of Christmas" and a few familiar faces to our BBC viewers here.
Then, it was Citizen Khan's "A Khan Christmas" Which was, well, lovely. I like the show, and the Christmas Special did well at making fun of Christmas, making you sympathise with Mr. Khan as he suffers trying to make the impossible work, and in the end it's satisfying without being too smarmy...the end is incredible.
I think I'll just get in the Hebburn special to-night, and then do Midsomer, Mrs. Brown's, and Midwife to-morrow, along with the Boxing Day specials, like "A Gangsta Christmas".

The story of the HMHS Britannic - sister ship of the Titanic. Sunk in 1916, after hitting a mine, only 30 lives were lost and those were out of stupid panic when 3 lifeboats full of people dropped into the water (without the Captain's approval) and got sucked into a giant exposed, fully operational propeller. Yea - like leaving the top off the blender.

The ratio of men to women down there is pretty high, but Karen says it's gotten a bit more equal over the years she's been there. However, she admitted to liking it more when there were fewer women. She said it was more sexist but more fun.
From an article about the base where she's stationed.
There are bars on McMurdo - Nicholas Johnson. author of The Big Dead Place, describes "a party where someone took a big block of ice and carved little 'ski trails' in it down which kamikazes were poured into the eager mouths of those wearing ski goggles and those holding ski poles. This was called Liquor Mountain. Women gave prizes to any man who showed up wearing a dress, so there was much cross-dressing. Myself, I wore a nasty leopard print number, with the nipples cut out, drank one too many kamikazes, and barfed up corn dogs in the snow". I missed alot of good movies and shows when I was out chasing women and behaving badly.

The Bourne Identity for about the 100th time. I just love they car chase scenes in this movie. I also think Damon was the best actor for this role even though he might not have seemed so at first.
I'm actually inclined to agree with you. I mean, in an over the top action movie like The Expendables, you want over the top actors like Stallone and Schwarzenegger. But for a movie where the lead is meant to be a badass that appears non-threatening and blends in, Damon works perfectly.
As for me, I don't post on the PC when I'm watching something, so I can't really answer this thread properly. I might have one of the Law & Order shows on in the background, but nothing I'm actually watching if I'm posting here.
