You'd have to ask me a whole lot of times before I would be able to come up with a good reason why the NFL should have to air a commercial for itself during the Super Bowl.
This is like McDonald's putting a sign inside McDonald's that says "Come to McDonald's". It's what the hip people call "Meta". |

You know, I agree that it's pointless.
But even so, I liked the little flashback to the past of football. As a young person, it was interesting to see how the sport developed over time. |

I think it's purpose was to put the parents of high school football players minds at ease over concussions.
