Really? Are you taking Chantix? Cold turkey? Hack up a lung?

Good luck! I'm saving a lot of money rolling our own. The only smart decision is quitting.

^  Cold turkey, kind of.  I bought 3 packs on Monday, and they lasted till yesterday at 3pm.  But I found a few butts in the ashtray, each with a puff or two left on them, so I finished those off.

I'm not really jonesing or anything.  Every once in awhile I get the whim to light up a cigarette, but I forget about it pretty quickly.

YAY!!!  Thumbs Up  Clap

After you've detoxed, it's all in your mind.  All you have to say is: Thor?  You're a non-smoker!

These tips might help you:

Good luck.  Stay strong!  It will be good for the cats and dog to not breathe in second-hand smoke. Tongue

Thanks, DRS!

So far, I've had no physical cravings for nicotine.  I haven't even had any strong desire to light up.  All I've had have been brief little automatic responses---like when I get in the car or after I've eaten.  It's only been a day, but if it stays like this, it'll be easy.

LOL

Thankfully, we can joke about something like this.  That's the advantage of being in a monogamous relationship for almost 20 years.

I saw that news too.  It's like Saint Valentine's Day Massacre 2.0.  So far 50 have only been injured, no deaths reported as of yet, and the bastard is in custody.  Cry

There are reports of deaths ranging from between one and twenty.

Possibly one or more adults.

Cigarette-free for a week now.  Feels good.  Probably saved myself $80-$100 so far, too.

Congrats on trying ending 'Just Another Bad Relationship'...here's hoping you live long and healthy life.

The Missus had quit 2 years before the impacts started showing and rapidly ended it all.

I've gone for the low-dose CT scans on both lungs.

Some things you just grow out of and lose interest in even though they just can't let you go and might just kill you...seems best to let them go their way and take your chances with the brighter future.

Way to go!  Is your brother still smoking?  They passed laws here years ago forbidding anyone from smoking in ANY building. Of course, that does not include someone's home or apartment. And the Casino's go by their own rules too.

How's the pooch? Do you have a fenced yard or do you have to do an early morning walk?

Thanks, all!

Bro's still smoking.  He seemed surprised when I told him the other day that I stuck with the plan.

In some CA towns, you can't smoke in apartments or condos.

Dog's doing well, aka.  We have a fenced yard and he goes for walks.  He's my bro's dog, so my bro has all that responsibility.  He's been meeting other neighborhood dogs.  No problem (unlike his 2 previous Shelties).  This dog has a very easy temperament.

When are you going to post pics of Bullitt?  At least one shot?  I'm sure he'll be pleased to pose for you or your bro.  Tongue

^ Yeah! Don't you old fogies have the technology?

I've decided, after reading on another forum, I'm going to treat the telemarketers a little differently.

I've been giving them sh!t for years so they call back when they get bored. A clear violation of the 'Do Not Call' list.  If I were to piss off one of these a-holes enough, they could hack my phone number, or maybe even my IP address.  It's called Swatting, they call in a terrorist threat to a school or anything that might cause a crew of heavily armed men to break down my door.

Like I said, homey don't need that!
