Ouch
O.K. all you 'Albert Lemmingsteins', let's GO into the future! Follow Intel and/or 'Alexis', and/or whatever piece of machinery that makes you look like a the artificial genius you aren't!
WE know what is going on all around you, WE know where you need to eat, where you need to go, who you need to be, so listen and do as you are told!
Your thoughts do not matter, your intelligence is artificial.,
We have you where we want you.

Note to self:  Invest in big pharma companies that will develop drugs for AI's when they start to suffer from depression or psychotic behavior (hey, people are effed up, so no reason to believe that AI's will be any different...  )

People are already becoming alarmingly dependent on the little precursors to A.I., so this really bugs me...but..."..we're gonnabe friends!..." Ouch

I've seen too many people over the years who possessed artificial intelligence.

That is why I refer to the same you speak of as 'Albert Lemmingsteins' - they wouldn't trust what you say, but let a machine spit an answer at them? How could it be wrong? Machines never lie. And these believers are all dressed up and ready to lead you, or their own business, down the path of the 'artificially-intelligent' and that brave, new world.
Idiots.

I can only see people who can afford it using it.  (Not me, I'm po' ! LOL)  Let them worry about the AI getting shut off if they miss a monthly billing payment, or the MS OS crashes ("Blue Screen of Death" would probably be literal.)  Besides, they'll exceed bandwidth pretty quickly downloading porn...  LOL

ConfusedYa know...A.I. is scary and I think people really should heed the warnings of all the great minds and scientists (sure, including meEmbarrassed) about NOT unleashing it and allowing people to become subservient to it. Look at who stands against it: Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, PaWolf...

Guess who will "be baaack!"?

A little light reading:

Ermm...I guess I, like my 'brothers-in-arms', have to 'man-up' and take some of the blame for the future...and I'm even more unhappy than when we opened the 'Internet Banking' doors in the early '90's.

Folks, one time only - really start paying attention to this. It is MUCH closer than you think, and yes - you should be scared. Very scared. There will be very much radical change, economically and sociologically (actually, it's already happening, but few see it).
The concept of a 'Universal Income for Everyone' is a sure sign we are in the world of AI already. Ontario, Canada and Finland, in may areas, have piloted, or are in the process of instituting 'universal income' because of the jobless rate and future projections for new work looking even worse than current. And, yes - AI has plenty to do with it. Get ready, folks - North America will have to deal with it on a grand scale within the next 2 to 3 years.
Start reading - start planning - because you are already late.
Ramifications? Think of the futuristic movie 'Elysium'. VERY similar, highly-likely.

Tin foil hats can act as Faraday cages to block electrical signals, so there is an 'employment vector' in that industry (for the quality ones, not the cheap crap or DIY hawked by most web sites. Wink

I actually foresee an underground economy springing up if they tried to implement this nonsense.  If people perceive an 'organized crime' entity trying to run everything in their life (basically that's what it will be), they'll appear to go along with it, but will game the system and ultimately sabotage it.  A "How To" book on that subject would be a best seller...  LOL

We're all to blame.  If we use technology, we've all played a part in its progress.  And that could be said of almost any technological progress throughout history.  People killed in car crashes?  Well, if there were no cars (or if we'd never "bought into" the horseless carriage), that wouldn't happen.

Wink Remember the early 1990's when most people began their 'Internet Banking' experiences?
I was against it from before 'day 1'. I don't know how many unplanned 'emergency' trips I made to Chicago and Atlanta on the heels of other business...but I do recall showing up over and over with dirty, mismatched clothes and nasty hangovers.
I don't like those memories.
