16, wow, that was a long time ago! Let's share memories of when we were sixteen [If you all can remember that far back!Tongue]

Cast your minds back to the 70s, the time of disco, the time fashion FORGOT!! I was a Sophomore in high school in 1978, I was dating a guy named Robert Goulet [really, that was his name!LOL] He was the first guy I went parking with, he was considered to be very cool in his three piece, corduroy leisure suit, worn with a silky shirt and a big silver cross tangled in his chest hair [swoon!] We sang in a group known as The Fishermen Gospel Team,I was also very involved in community theater back then

It was only 4 years ago, but plenty has changed. Sophomore in high school, dating a kid named George, we sat at my kitchen table and ate some cake. I drove a 91 Oldsmobile that I JUST got rid of 2 months ago in favor of my dream car, a green Honda Del Sol, worked at Chuck E Cheese (where I ended up meeting my hubby) Wow, my 16th was boring.... my 18th was far more fun, and my 21st will be a hoot!

Oh. I bet that guy was pretty popular though.

EDIT: My friend's aunt dated John O'Hurley in college. Only for like a month though. She said he was rather nerdy. I can see that.
That voice would be really weird, I can imagine...

Now that I think about it, I guess THE Robert Goulet was already pretty old by that time.

I was among the youngest in my grade, so I had to rely on friends to go places with.  The Jersey shore was one of my favorite destinations.  One of my friends had a 61 Studebaker that required we stop often to add oil.  Another had a 61 VW Bug.

That was 1972.  I always relate the things I was doing in a particular year, to the songs that I was hearing that year.  Here's #80-100 on a list of the top 100 songs of 1972 (I'm always more interested in the less popular stuff):

80. Family Affair, Sly and The Family Stone
81. Troglodyte, Jimmy Castor Bunch
82. The Witch Queen Of New Orleans, Redbone
83. Freddie's Dead, Curtis Mayfield
84. Power Of Love, Joe Simon
85. Ain't Understanding Mellow, Jerry Butler and Brenda Lee Eager
86. Taxi, Harry Chapin
87. Don't Say You Don't Rememeer, Beverly Bremers
87. Sealed With A Kiss, Bobby Vinton
88. I Saw The Light, Todd Rundgren
89. Motorcycle Mama, Sailcat
90. Day By Day, Godspell Soundtrack
91. Roundabout, Yes
92. Doctor My Eyes, Jackson Browne
93. I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing, New Seekers
94. Vincent/Castles In The Air, Don Mclean
95. Baby Let Me Take You (In My Arms), Detroit Emeralds
96. Speak To The Sky, Rick Springfield
97. I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing, Hillside Singers
98. Walking In The Rain With The One I Love, Love Unlimited
99. Good Foot, Pt. 1, James Brown
100. Pop That Thang, Isley Bros.

I'm thinking back then, at 15 & 8 months you got your drivers license. Grandad bought me a '57 Chevy 4 door. Not really the chick-getter ride even though it had a big back seat.LOL

The same can pretty much be said of me except it was a 2 year span, again, not something I would recommend....and I shall add "drink your milk" to the list of things to do instead LOL

.......hmmmmmm...16?
Right before MissyDWolf...
Was busy growing up in West Germany, playing with thingies that flip 0's and 1's, travelling a lot, studying history, listening to a ton of music, and broadening my horizons, and telling every girl I knew, "I'm sterile - so don't worry" (no, it wasn't a good line)...

Watch out for idiots with bad lines and avoid doing anything with your current horizon...

I remember when I turned sixteen, all those months ago....

I didn't even know that it was my birthday until the celebratory dinner.  Yeah, I was out of it.

Happy sweet 16, Kat! Hope it was a good day for you.

16 was not a happy time for Mooch. I don't want to bring the festivities down by mentioning what happened then so I'll just stop here.
