As for "modern" radio stations, I have had enough of "Happy" by Pharrell, "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry, "Ride" by Twenty One Pilots, "Mr. Know It All" by Kelly Clarkson, and "I Can't Stop the Feeling" by Justin Timberlake. They were good the first few times, but dang do the radio stations here play these songs a lot.

All the songs I really like are ingrained in my memory and I can recall them anytime I want.

As I said earlier, when I'm driving out on the open road, I turn on my mental radio. I roll the windows up and sing along as loud as I please.

I actually prefer that to listening to it.

Much more fun.

And whatever you do - don't accept unsolicited offers from Entresto to film you singing in the shower!  Shocked

I tend to just have the radio on for background noise.  Sometimes, when the ads seem too thick, I turn it off entirely.  Talk radio is just as bad.  You hear one show in the morning, and all the shows following repeat the same old crap as the first one (and the same 35 minutes of ads per hour.)  They get turned off, too...

I was the oldest boy so I got to ride along with my dad, he was racing in the SCCA.
His mechanic was into Ham and Short Wave radio.

I had one of these in the early 70s, pretty cool.

Nice radio.

I've got one of these buried in my closet right now...

...belonged to my late uncle, but I don't know how I acquired it.

It has two SW bands and one BC band, whatever that is.

And it's missing the small black knob in the upper left corner.

Too bad the broadcasts can't be as old as those radios.
