It is natural for all of us to know the goings on in the cosmic scheme of things. One of those methods of obtaining this knowledge in through the news. In the past, I can watch CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC, read the newspaper without fear and feeling afraid or ashamed. Today, it's anything but information...it's entertainment for those who favor disaster porn and dumb bitch reporters who are no more intelligent than Kim Kardashian(hell, they even look like her) that puke their useless opinions instead of what they are paid and educated to do: REPORT THE NEWS WITHOUT PRIDE OR PREJUDICE!!!
My gripe in this rant is how news networks talk to an already depressed, angry, and severely dumbed-down and misinformed public! They speak to us like we're children...more specifically one's who are complete idiots! They would tell us to "take a look" "listen to this" "hear this" "see that" !! As ignorant as our nation is: we do not need a hyperactive neo-yuppie talking head on 5 cups of espresso and Vicodin to coach in doing so while watching very big letters describing something. Why? Most people in the United States (despite our f**ked-up education system) can read well enough to understand a goddamned news broadcast. Besides, if we are as stupid as others claim we are: shouldn't be wiser to explain the occurrence in full detail with the facts included? But do these bastards understand this? No way in hell. See, some networks like Fox News think that facts are "liberal bias". Bias? Really? If Fox is un-biased then I'm Rodney Dangerfield. However, like his character me and the rest of the public "get no respect" from our sources of information. Not to say that CNN and MSNBC are exempt. They are not. They turn facts into their personal opinions which is a big no-no in journalism. If you were to watch PBS or the BBC there are no such instructions or shrill. Opinions are for the editorials and the editorials alone. Speaking of shrill, not only does the cable "news" networks speak to its public like retards they even to do something even worse. Our noble anchors happen to speak like teenagers in the quad. Do they honestly think all that grinning, laughter, and generic Caucasian-American yuppie accent. (It's a blend of Connecticut Yuppie, Snobby celebrity, with a touch of Valley Girl) Finally, a reporter must withhold all opinions, emotions, and prejudices to him/herself. A reporter should not instruct an audience, terrorize it, demean it or in most of our cases annoy the holy piss out of it! |
