I know this commercial has been talked about before but I would like to say what I absolutely do not like about this commercial and it involves any commercial with continuity problems. One .001 of a second she is holding the spoon the next .001 of a second she is holding the bottom of the yogurt and so on. This really annoys me.

I enjoy when the clerk comes up to her and says "you don't have to yell at the cake" and she replies "yes I do."

that and unless you are diabetic or other aversions require it, eat some cake!
Any dietitian or health professional will admit that indulgence is just that, an indulgence. It is something in our brains that we have to sometimes kick start things. Like the sweet tooth. Some in the world NEED something sweet to turn off hunger. And they know that texture, as noted, is part of taste and the part of the brain that turns and turns off hunger. Not to mention most cake is made with sugar and that assists in turning off the hunger, so some can have just a sliver, like two ounces, and be satisfied. Yoplait is made with corn syrup and high fructose or not, corn syrup sugar seems to not trigger the satisfaction portions of the brain as easily or as readily as a cane. But that's a whole other argument. Bottom line is, even dieters are told to indulge when they feel the need as long as they know it is just that and it is rare. |

I'm a diabetic, but will gladly eat cake once in a while.

This commercial makes me want to throw stuff at the TV. That woman who was yelling at the cake (hello, Security?) has one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard. I'm pretty sure she's the same woman who did those Glad bag commercials a few years ago - that screechy voice! She even looks like her. Surely there can't be two people in the world with that voice.
Congratulations. You are now a Mooch Mute Button All Star. |

I like yogurt I dislike this commercial. I'd like to take that lady to an asylum or something because she's yelling at the cakes again. ![]() |

I thought that I had posted this in the commercial talk forum because I was not necessarily just talking about one particular commercial. That is also why I did not put a commercial name in the title because I basically was talking about any time in commercials where there are continuity problems that drive me crazy.

You should have titled it "continuity problems" and not started out hating on one commercial in particular

I actually like this commercial. That bitch really wants to eat that cake, and she's fighting like hell. We've all been there.
Personally, I would have bought the cake and worked out later.

Like the Sally Field Boniva commercial they're showing right now (she's seated, wearing a blue shirt). It's mainly one continuous scene, chopped up into segments. But in each segment, the hair over her forehead is different. It's just one of those details you begin to notice after seeing the commercial 50 times.
Here 'tis:

People who are leery of HFCS but want yogurt should look at the different varieties of Greek yogurts. Europe (from what I hear) limits the use of HFCS to about 300,000 tons per year in comparison to the total sweeteners used of around 18 million tons. Manufacturers have to use sugar, and Europeans (particularly Greeks- taking into account the whole Mediterranean diet) are pretty much healthier on a whole than Americans.
Of course they have national health care, but that's a whole other argument also.

The only yogurt I can stand is Yoplait, and that's probably because of the HFCS! I hate the consistency of "real" yogurt, as well as the taste. The only Yoplait I can even handle is strawberry or strawberry/banana. Years ago, Yoplait made "Morning Breakfrast" yogurt, which had nuts and berries. They stopped making it.
But since I got wise to the HFCS, I've stopped even eating the Yoplait. Greek yogurt? Ewwwwwww. (Just my opinion, of course.) |
