is it just me or does this show just seem like the guys who make modern marvels started a bunch of shows then scrapped the ideas and decided to make a show out of them? the narrator talks in monotone the entire show every show. the background music is some terrible electronic garbage that sounds like someone threw a sampling keyboard down a flight of stairs. i tried very hard to like this show but i just cannot watch more than a few minutes, it wouldnt be as bad if they didnt have a narrator more monotone than microsoft sam. and the worst part is that isnt even an exaggeration.

Agreed, waste of space on the discovery channel, move it to TLC with all the other crap.

I agree with moving it to TLC, but I actually really enjoy the show. It's very relaxing.

I love How It's Made - and if you look around the internet you can actually find versions of the same show with different narrators.
It looks these episodes have been repackaged several times. I've even found versions with a female voice-over. |

I've been known to let out a groan after seeing how goalie pads are made for the seventh time. However, not only is the show interesting, it is educational.
For example, I would have thought it was totally ridiculous the amount of videos I've seen, on YouTube, of people attempting to supercool their computers by dumping them into an aquarium filled with mineral oil. But for the fact that I saw on How It's Made that telephone pole electric transformer cannisters are filled with oil, because the oil acts as an insulator. Cool!
I wouldn't have believed it otherwise.

Have to say, I really like this show. Any show about making/manufacturing stuff interests me. Rather see this than shows about talent, dancing, survivors, housewives, blah blah. Any day of the week.

I actually kind of like the show although I do agree that music is just plain bad.
