I get tired of hearing of cell phone ads that don't work in my area.  The only three cell phone providers that provide more than "I-80" coverage are US Cellular, Alltel (soon to be Verizon), and a regional carrier called Viaero.  Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Virgin Mobile work in Grand Island but the Sprint network they use outside of eastern Nebraska tends to follow the interstate and ends west of Kearney.  And your iPhone becomes a glorified iPod Touch west of Lincoln because there's no AT&T wireless service either.  And the Tracfones they keep promoting in Wal-Mart and online don't work here either, you look at the Wal-Mart ad on one of the TVs in there and when you look at the Tracfones the ones advertised aren't there.  Only a 9.95 Kyocera and a 17.95 LG.

I hate those ads too.  I live on the border of Ohio and PA (on the PA side) and see TV ads all the time for cell phone services available in Ohio, but not PA.  Of course, it doesn't help that all of my network stations are broadcast out of Ohio!
As an unrelated aside...I remember Grand Island, Nebraska from the children's book "Night of the Twisters"--only because that book (and one graphic scene in particular) scared the daylights out of me!
