The Best Buy Twelpforce Series

 

They are doing the new fangled 'it' thing to do- which is listing their very own twitter page on this commercial.  Oh Gee...where do I sign up to follow Best Buy on Twitter!

 

Then....this creepy whispery voice girl (who I am assuming is trying to sound sexy, but fails miserably...I think she's trying to channel the Palm Pre creepy whispery voice girl) here, who's name I find out is Mary, ask two questions- all of which pertain to getting a new phone or whatever, and then....she does the 'ask a totally unrelated question from out of left field for a the quirky, gimmicky, yet somehow more evolved senses of humor'.....This method was funny to me and yes, for a while I felt elitist when I got the fact that the real humor in this type of joke is just the fact that it's off the wall, but man!  When it's part of just about ever other quasi-funny ad, storyline, stand up gig, it loses it for me.

 

And I haven't even mentioned the fact that this girl is in the middle of a ball field at night asking a stadium full of Best Buy employees som really simple simon questions.  We get it already, Best Buy can handle customer service better than Walmart.  Well, you better.  You really only sell electronics.  Since I can't buy a flat screen, printer cartridge AND toothpaste and garden hose at Best Buy...they better get somemthing right.
