Why in god's name has anyone created this topic? Whatever. I hate back to school ads. I mean many have stupid themes. Like that "Kansas City Gay Person" dad.

Uh..... Huh?
Is this some kind of reference to the opening scene of "Blazing Saddles"? ("I hired you people to get a little track laid, not to dance around like a bunch of Kansas City..." er, ... gay persons)
Explain, please.

I'll agree that back-to-school commercials suck - mostly because, only being out of highschool for about a year now, I can still remember the annoyance I felt at the typical "Kidz are going 'BACK2SKOOL', all you parents can finally relax!!"-type spot.
Currently, I'm hating all of those commercials featuring the "fashion shows" in the lunch room. No one f**king cares what you're wearing.

I hate K-Mart's back-to-school ads.
GOD. What more slang can we sling at 9-year-olds to make them obnoxious posers in a few years? "Rockstare is the look you get when you LOOK like a rockstar!" Okay, so not you? |

SERIOUSLY! And I just knew the damn thing was gonna end with some kind of adult supervisory official appearing all stern looking and frowny to "ruin" the fun. First of all, what school is that lame that the students get excited about a fashion show in the middle of lunch? If some kid were to just get up on the table and walk around where I'd gotten school they would've been yanked down and tossed out a window! Second, once again all the kids are skinny stick figures with perfect skin. Yeah THAT represents real high school life! |

Those commercials are a waste of air time...They are just promoting and brain washing kids to believe that if they're not wearing a certain brand of clothing, fit into the more "popular" cliche groups and such than they're not with the in crowd. Bunch of nonsense.
NOBODY CARES WHAT BRAND YOU WEAR!!! It's not what group you're with that matters it's how you treat each other as person! It seems that is lost by all the cliche groups. You know what bites about these commercials too.. They never have the plain jane kids they're always the pretty or handsome ones. |

haha, Sears. I just went to Sears this year. It was the first time in at least seven years. Only reason why I was there was it is the only place selling Zenith DTV converters. I couldn't believe the place is still open. It looked so old and so empty. And a bunch of employees standing around chatting. I'll bet they were thinking "I can't believe we're still open" too! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think they've been using that "arrive" nonsense for years too. Or maybe it was JC Penny. I always remember some obnoxious back to school ad with some snotty obnoxious poser divas obsessing over clothes. That's why we as a nation are as dumb as we are. School is turning into a place to compare clothes. |

My son finished college at the end of the summer session, so after 17 years I no longer have to worry about back-to-school ads for clothes, books, computers, supplies, etc. etc., and no more planning and prep for moving-back-to-college day. Free at last!!!!
Nonetheless, these ads are annoying--and that "rock-staring" ad has hit a new low.

I'm glad I don't have to go back to school just so I don't have to worry about these poser people that the youth here keep mentioning. They must be horrible. What are they, anyway?

I'm surprised that no one mentioned that god-awful K-Mart ad about "blingage" yet.
I knew I hated this commercial as soon as I saw that girl in the pink. "When it comes to blingage, sometimes less is WAY more." As if the way she streses "way" isn't bad enough, the hand movements she does are just retarded. Shut the f**k up, kid. No one cares about your goddamn "blingage".
Then at the end of this commercial, this fat boy with glasses asks if he has "blingage" too. Everybody is real quiet before laughing and saying that he does. Haha, yeah, because everybody knows that fat people who wear glasses are disgusting nerds who have NO sense of fashion, right? >.>

Are you sure the word isn't "blingitude"? 'Cuz there's a whole thread on that K-Mart ad.

Well, at least you know the type of ad that gets people riled up around here. I think that thread is like 3 or 4 pages long!
