This time, they have REAL people and she tries to tempt some guy who's eating a Blizzard for buying her cookies.
Do we really need those little Girl Scouts trying to pin us down so we can eat their cookies?! |

That goddamn Miley Cyrus generation has gotten so brazen. Just what are they teaching at these girl scout meetings? Extortion? Price-fixing? What's next, loan sharking?

Is this the one where what looks like a ghost is shouting at the guy? I hate this one. I hate shouting in TV ads and I can't stand the obnoxious girl scout.
Methinks this guy needs to remind the girlscout that girl scout cookies are for girls only* *As the brat in the Blizzard commercial so snottily says to her father. |

I'm not sure why, but I don't hate this one. Maybe it's because I admire a little girl with mad selling skills. Maybe it's because I see a bit of "lil Heza" in her
![]() However, I don't like the typical fat oaf stuffing his face with ice cream answering the door, and I don't like the little girl's lisp. |

The commercial is kind of ironic because the "Girl Scout Code" or whatever they call it forbids selling cookies door-to-door...too many girl scouts were getting abducted, apparently......

The idea is to teach the girls to be strong leaders. The cookie sales are pretty pathetic, about sales pressure. Now kids as young as six may be required to sell cookies. The girls usually don't end up doing it - their parents do. Their only saving grace in this is that the cookies are so good. |

Now that Girls Scout Cookies and Dairy Queen are teamed up, the pressure is off of me when the Girl Scouts try selling me their product. Now, I can say "Run along with your f*ckin' Tagalongs, greedy little corporate whore-scout!"
And I will.

So it's kinda like those candy-selling fund-raising things most students had to do back when i was in elementary school.
I hated doing that--there were so many kids from the same school in my neighborhood, that most neighbors had already bought some before i even got home from school. lol

It's exactly like that.
And, Thor: Remember the kid is not the greedy whore-scout. Blame the fancy-ass GSUSA executives who must preside from Fifth Avenue in NYC. |

Yeah, I'm only kidding. But I've been looking for an excuse to not buy Girl Scout cookies for several years now ('cuz when I buy 'em, I eat 'em, and I'm trying to avoid that stuff), and this one is as good as any.
Sometimes when kids come around peddling their school/scout crap, I just give 'em a donation. I don't need the cookies or the candy or those 3-inch thick coupon books filled with discounts on such things as half-price French manicures and 10% off on new gutters.

Besides Thor..... those might be future conservative Republicans you'd be chasing away.
Future golf-playing, country-club belonging, selfish, money-grubbing, Republican voting, corporate-whore sales executives who care only about lower taxes & nothing else.
You of all people should be nurturing that.

They could just as easily become Godless, unpatriotic, pierced-nose. Volvo-driving, France-loving, left-wing communist, latte-sucking, tofu-chomping, holistic-wacko neurotic vegan weenie perverts. Gloria Steinem was one!
Maybe I can agree to buy Girl Scout cookies, if the Girl Scouts buy copies of (the woman whose name I cannot mention here) latest book. I'll stock up. Maybe I can get the books for $20 each, and sell them to the Girl Scouts for $25. Hell, those cookies couldn't have cost more than 53ยข to manufacture and ship. How much will they gouge us for them this year---$5 per box??? Or will the boxes magically become smaller?

They won't be around until Winter/Spring 2010 (unless it's different in CA) and my prediction is that the boxes will be both smaller and more expensive. Just give a donation if you want to help the girls. And make the check to the troop, not the GS Council. |

I often give the girls coming to my door, a $5 donation. Each one, that is. Hopefully, I don't have more than 2 or 3 ringing my doorbell. When I see them stationed like vultures outside the supermarket door, I head for the other door.
The ones I never give to, are the kids I've never seen before, hawking commercial candy bars (Snickers, Twix, etc.) at exorbitant mark-ups. Often, they say it's for school supplies or for a class trip. I read that these are scams. They're just money-making enterprises for their "pimp", who pays the kids a little money and pockets the rest.

Or better yet..... be a good conservative & tell them to go out & get a damned job if they want to raise money for their troop. Hand them copies of the help wanted section of the local paper.
Then, as they're dejectedly walking away, sarcastically suggest they go ask Obama for a free handout.
Ann would be proud!!!!!

I guess I am in the minority here as I really like that ad.
Maybe I am biased due to my love of the Girl Scout Cookie. I just think it is clever. We had some come to our door this last time and I caved. As did my wife, and she can't eat gluten without intense pain. They allow door to door, it depends on the troupe or whatever and they have guidelines. |

They already have a job. They're salesgirls for Girl Scouts of America. Their pay?? Some sh*tty prize, I would imagine. Probably something to do with Hannah Montana.

Cabbage night is the night before Halloween, when mayhem ensues at the hands of unsupervised juveniles. This usually involves TP'ing houses and trees, smashing pumpkins in the street, soaping car windows, and egging houses.
I never did it, but the walk to the bus stop the following morning was always interesting, with all the smashed pumpkins on the way. *** The girls get stupid incentives, based on how many boxes of cookies they sell. If they sell 87 boxes they can get a leaky sports bottle - yay.... |

I'm a Girl Scout leader. I actually have a moral opposition to the cookies because they have trans fats in them but they lie on the box. Now, we have to sell them if we want to have any money to run the troop, but I, personally, will not. I donate money to the troop instead.
And yes, the commercial is stupid because Girl Scout cookies don't go on sale til February. Even though I'm not so much liking the Girl Scouts of America organization, I feel that I have a great opportunity to guide and influence girls as they navigate a really tough time in their lives. |
