I just saw it on the news.
Judging by some of the vicious comments (and "violent fantasies") directed at him by some people at CIH, I would assume this will make many people here happy. Just do a search; you'll find people here wanting to "kick that douchebag in the balls" and others actually wishing him dead!
BILLY MAYS...RIP!!!

Yup...it's true.
Wouldn't you know SOMETHING was about to overshadow Michael Jackson's passing...

The most unbelievable bit of news I could imagine for today, Billy Mays died at his home in Tampa at the age of 50
He seemed like a really nice and likeable guy and certainly drove the industry for direct sales for many years.
The market won't be the same anymore.

Love him or hate him, you hate to see news like this about anybody:
Many of us found his style obnoxious, but you have to admit he had found his little niche in the world and was good at what he did. As much as I cringed at the thought of his own show on Discovery, I must say the one episode I watched gave me a new respect for the man.
First David Carradine, then Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, now this. What the heck is going on in the celebrity world?
RIP, Billy.

My condolences to all who knew and loved him,
I'm glad that "pitchmen" showed the world a softer side of the man . Billy, you won't be forgotten , that's for sure. kris |

Everyone is either trying to outdo each other, or, well...maybe everyone is 'jumping on the bandwagon'.
Actually, Thor made a pretty good point about how so very many 'BabyBoomers' are getting closer to a 'precarious age'...not all of us can be young and healthy.

So far, four threads on this. Definitely something Billy Mays would do. He'd be proud.

Come on wheelieking...I know we have fun on this board, but that last line was not cool...I try to have some degree of decorum and rexpect for the dead..as much as we hated the commercials the man was still someone's husband and father and those people are in shock and hurting today .
Just my 2 cents worth.....
RIP Billy.....

I didn't realize there was already a thread going! Sorry about that!
Hey PaWolf, good to be seen! I've been pretty remiss in posting lately and missed the old crowd here.

I guess I should've said I won't miss his commercials. I'm probably not in the minority. I paid my respects, hence "RIP". |

An article out of Florida posted his Twitter account link:
Notice the next to the last entry is about a third hip replacement.
Hope that hard landing Saturday didn't shake a blood clot loose.

Wow! I couldn't believe it when my son came in and told me. We always made fun of the guy, but gee whiz! I'll bet it's related to the bumpy landing, he was quoted as saying that stuff was flying around and hit him in the head. RIP Billy! You were certainly one of a kind!!!!

Don't worry about it. Considering there've probably been 30 or 40 Billy Mays threads started here over the past few years, 4 or 5 for his death seems reasonable.

I was just reading on CNN about Mays. It said there was a hard landing on his plane and something hit him in the head. So he says I didn't worry about it my head it pretty hard. Um if something hit's your head go to the Dr's. That's just common sense. Yeah I didn't like his commercials but I wouldn't wish this on anyone ya know. I know if something like luggage hit my head I would go to the Doctors right away. R.I.P Billy.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I cannot BELIEVE this! What is up with the world? Why are people dropping like flies all of a sudden? As much as I hated his ads, it's really sad that he died. Now what are we going to complain about here? Seriously, this is really sad and shocking news (as if we didn't already have plenty of that last week). My heart goes out to his family.

I was probably one of the few that wasn't really bothered by his commercials.
I wonder what he will be trying to sell in heaven?
RIP Billy
