Axe "Double Pits to Chesty"

This spot annoys me because anyone who sprays THIS much smelly sh*t on yourself is a complete toolshed. Congratulations, you smell like a middle school boy who marinated in cologne now ready for his first coed dance. I mean what the hell? If you sweat a lot use scented antiperspirant, if not use deodorant, and then you can use a little bit of this stuff, but dousing yourself like it was an odor extinguisher putting out a stink fire on your torso is juvenile shady basics 101.

You don't need to worry about girls whiffing your pits...you'll never need to cross that bridge.

It makes me think of after gym class.   Everyone doused themselves in AXE to try to 'freshen up' and not stink for the rest of the day.  

Trust me, as bad as you think AXE smells, it beats the crap out of being dirty.   One year I had a class with a smelly kid.   It was not fun.

WTH is a "chesty"? Why don't they just say chest?

Jade East was the popular cologne with the black leather jacket and Italian Ban-lon knit shirt and Brylcreem set when I was a youth.  And I'm talking 1970, not 1960.

"Double pits to chesty"...the phrase makes me want to violently shake something. Axe is getting on my nerves more and more lately. I can't stand the other "bad hair epidemic" series commercials either.

Edit: I forgot about the worst part! The reporter girl actually sniffs the dude's armpits when he raises them in victory. I'm so sick of seeing this depicted, no matter how good your pits smell, beautiful women would not be caught dead taking a few wiffs of them with a goofy grin in public.

When I lived the "dorm life" for a year, I had to endure some students that took "Axe showers" (no, not Axe shower gel, though Unilever makes that, too). They sprayed on Axe to cover up bad, but not atrocious body odor. Those who did shower wore Cool Water, Adidas Moves, or Curve... I still can't get over the smell of Cool Water to this day because of those associations.

As for me, I happen to like Thierry Mugler's A*Men (which was known as Angel Men until recently... they changed the name to make it the same worldwide), along with John Varvatos Vintage. I like a little complexity in my cologne.

-To those wondering about "chesty", it's to make the phrase sound like a trick, (like stoppie, froggy, or wheelie)

What I really hated about this new campaign is, it's the equivalent of "lather, rinse, repeat" They don't care if you're overdoing it, they want people to empty their can faster so they go buy more.

Axe is so nasty!! Like many others here I too have bad associations with it.  Seems like it came out when I was in high school, so many of the gross/sleazy types that never showered used it to cover up God knows what..

Of course I grew up in the sticks so most of them were just rednecks and hilljacks that seemed to think it was some sort of high-end cologne. 

I'd rather smell Designer Imposters over that sh*t!

I found the x-ray version of double pits to chesty                                                                                                                                      and the can cam now they're just going crazy.
