Yeah.  Her boyfriend.  The one up there on the left.  He's a major star too, so I've heard.  But I understand they're back together.  If that's true, let 'em have at each other.

I wish her no ill, but her "Don't Stop the Music" made me actually leave Mervyn's when it was played on their music loop.  (This was right before they closed.)  It's just a beat, with her repeating the same stupid lyrics over and over, and no music in the background.  Made my head want to explode.

Those silly kids! <slaps knee and laughs>
We all know to expect out of their types!!!
Isn't that they way their kind treat their women?
(McCartney singing "Another Day", in the background)

Chris Brown? He actually put his hands on a woman! I could care less if they are 'stars'.
They ARE ignorant; the photos said a lot - he gave her a good ol' fashioned shi*-kicking ass-whupping. If he walks, all the kids will be doin' it.
What an EXAMPLE this idiot set for others. 'Anger Management' class simply isn't enough.
Think most places start with 45-90 days in the can - he probably could use the 'wake up' call; it might do him good.

I just read that the guy's only 19.  19, and he's already beating up women?  I hope this incident serves as a warning to other women who might want to date him.  Somehow, I doubt it will.  I doubt it'll affect his career, either.  In fact, it might help it.  After all, he's keeping it real.

I also read that he's being represented by Mark Geragos.  Geragos has represented other bastions of goodness such as Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, and those asses who taunted the tiger at the SF Zoo not too long ago.

Some Chris Brown lyrics, from a song of his called Shake It:

Baby I'm just hittin on ya
I want to get to know ya
I don't want to waste your time
And I'm gonna keep it real with ya

She is refusing to press charges & says that they've reconciled.

She is one incredibly good looking woman.

And, though I would certainly never condone hitting a woman, or anyone else in anger or for any reason other than self defense, I can't help wonder if she didn't "press his buttons" or provoke him a little bit.

People who are intimately involved with one another often times do that.

LOLOhhh...how correct you ARE, ol'Mule!
Women intentionally will 'push the buttons', however, I still believe any (real) man with an inkling of self-control can avoid 'losing it' - and if he does, he still operates with some form of morals, values, and scruples - none of which condones "slappin' da *itch around 'cause I's daMan!".

Some of us retain additional qualities - those that fall under the classification of 'self-preservation'. Let me provide a simple example: MissyDWolf would very, very quickly murderlize me, if I even thought about "puttin' her in 'da *itch place" (when she makes a fist, any wise man knows the background tune he is hearing the 'Popeye-after-the-can-of-Spinach' music).

Ah, yes. I remember that music. And the ol "windmill windup" that went with it.

I used to hang out with this guy who could be the biggest a-hole anyone had ever met when he wanted to be. Worked his entire life outdoors in the blazing Florida summer heat & the freezing winter cold as a block & brick mason. Needless to say, that's the kind of work that hardens a guy up, both physically & mentally. He wasn't quite as big as me, but I sure would've hated to fight him, & we came close to it more than once.

But as big of a macho a-hole as he was most of the time, even he wouldn't hit a female.

He had this one girlfriend for about a month or so, & one day when I came over, his face was scratched up a bit & there was a cracked, dented spot on one of the walls.

I asked him what happened & he told me they had a fight & the gal (I forget her name) beat his ass before she left. The damaged spot in the wall was where she banged HIS head into it!!!! LOL

But, to his credit, whether out of that "real men's code of honor", or out of the knowledge that he'd have gone to jail, he laid nary a hand on her.

I think there are two kinds of guys.  The ones who will hit a woman, and the ones who won't.  For most of us---whether it be the way we were raised or the "man's code of honor" that Jimbo mentioned, or the fact that it didn't happen in our own family, or whatever---there's some sort of wall that stops us from crossing the line.  For others, there isn't, and I don't know if any amount of "anger management" is going to change that.  The chance will always be there.  It's like what they say about alcoholics i.e., that they can't be cured.

That said, there was one woman I knew who probably deserved to be beaten, and, believe me, I fantasized about the things I'd do to her.  But there was no chance in hell that any of it would ever come to pass.  It just wasn't in me.  Thus, the difference between thinking about the things you'd like to do, and actually doing them.  Thinking about the things I would have liked to do, just might've been the sort of release valve I needed.

The thought of hitting a woman to some guys is like the thought of tongue kissing your mother or walking up behind a cop & putting your hand on his gun.

The idea of it just makes you all squeamish. Confused
