Then maybe you can use your feminine wiles to persuade him never to do any more ads again, or at least no more ads where he questions the sexual orientation of any guy who buys a truck with a "man step" like he's back in junior high.

My sister can't do it, she's married. You're our only hope!!!

LOL DolFan316, I'M married, too. If I WERE single, though, and could use my feminine wiles on Howie Long, it wouldn't be the cessation of car ads I'd be trying to persuade him to do!!!!
Just because your sis is married doesn't mean she can't enjoy Howie and other hotties!!! You know the old saying , "Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't read the menu!"Wink

Now there are so many more Howie Long Chevy commercials. It's like quit trying to compare your car to Honda's or Toyota's. They are much cheaper and if you look at resale value that speaks for itself. I wished someone would just slap him he's so annoying. I wouldn't buy Chevy to begin with but now I would refuse to drive them. I would not even take a Chevy if I had a rental.

To hate a product that bad based on your dislike of the spokesperson is just silly. I can see how the commercials turn you off, but seriously now.

Agree with the condescending arrogant part.  The new one making fun of Honda is really funny because comparing chevy to honda is about as stupid as you can get.  He says the only thing Honda has that compares to a Chevy is a Honda Lawnmower--yeah, there is no comparison, on mpg and reliability Honda beats the crap out of Chevy.  This reminds me of the early Mac vs. PC.  Mac was very arrogant but I think they realized how superior they sounded and toned it down.  Maybe Chevy will figure it out but I doubt if Howier has a brain inside that big 'ol manly head of hisWink

This is somewhat untrue. Japanese workers get government provided health care, so the car company isn't on the hook for it. So in a sense, it is "bailout" money- they just don't have to beg to get it.

As for the American plants, the states they are located in have given the foreign manufacturers big time tax incentives to locate there. Another "bailout" in that the citizens of those states are making up the tax revenue lost by giving the foreign companies a break.

I know it's the new "cool" and "hip" thing to make fun of GM and Chrysler, people who are "ironic" have a certain smugness about themselves- but the failure of any of the American auto makers would have widespread effects on the nation's economy.

People rooting for opther Americans to lose their jobs just to spite them are unpatriotic at best, and treasonous at worst.

If you enjoy supporting the industry from other countries, please feel free to move there and give them your total support. Leave America to people who love it.

The bottom line is that Howie Long is a real douche bag prick. If I were to see him in pain on the street, I'd spit on him rather than help.

I drive Toyota trucks and Honda sedans because they last forever and have almost no problems. Take a look at their record for customer satisfaction.

As far as the guy you says it's unpatriotic not to support the American auto industry - screw you. I'd gladly move to another county if I could afford it. The US is chalked full of dumb Republican Christians - I wish they'd all die.Clap

Actually, my intention for you was to take those dumb Republican Christians with you. They are the ones hell bent on the "Real 'Merkins Buy Wut They Want" mentality that is eroding our economy little by little. If they died once you all arrived in Japan, that would be fine too.

I'm o.k. with Chevy.

I think Howie Long has certainly reinvented himself and is an effective 'pitch man'.

Most of the commercials are o.k., but I think 'THEY' need to take part in the 'TIRE TREAD TEST'...The Inquiring Mindless need to know how THEY feel after a few 'once overs'.

Are you saying if we don't like what the Big 3 are putting out, we should buy one anyway? Just so we are buying American......Wacko
Dude, Nissan, Toyota and Honda have been here for decades. But you work for one of the Big 3 so anything you say is biased. Don't we export vehicles? Suppose those countries had your mentality....... "Don't buy that American crap. You're ruining our economy."
BTW. Whatcha typing on? An American made computer? You own an American made TV/radio?

So you're saying that of all the US models, there isn't ONE you find appealing? Talk about being biased.

You need to do some research before you post. We do export, BUT at a fraction of what we import. And yes, this is our own fault that we [meaning our government] has set up trade agreements that allow such an imbalance. Also- the amount of tariffs attached to vehicles we export vs. the vehicles we import is dramatically different. A brand new Ford Taurus costs between $80,000 and $90,000 U.S. in Japan. Why does our government allow them to tax our products so highly while allowing virtually no tax to be placed on theirs. Riddle me this quiz kid: Would you buy a Honda that cost $80,000?

And by the way- those countries DO have that mentality. Save for the Chinese irrational obsession with Buick, almost no one is Asia buys American cars. But then again, they have a sense of national pride.

BTW. Whatcha typing on? An American made computer? You own an American made TV/radio?

Moot point. Your argument seems to imply that because while we were busy looking for the lowest price on widgets at the local Wal-Mart and the small appliance industry went overseas to compete that we should just remain asleep at the wheel. It has to end somewhere.

No major economic player in the world is dominated by the service industry. In order to remain a "first world" nation a country has to PRODUCE something besides corrupt company executives.

But I'd prefer moving to New Zealand over Japan (although I could go for those Japanese bukkake girls)

Ok I just went into KBB.com to prove a point. If you take a 2005 Chevy Cobalt with 45,000 miles the suggested retail value is $9,405. Then I looked at the same model for the Civic and the suggested retail value is 12,225. They are right around the same price when you first purchase them new.

As for buying Chevy or Ford I don't like any of there cars really. The new Camaro looks like crap the older version looks a hell alot better. I had a Ford Tempo as my first car. That was a worthless piece of crap which the alignment was f'd on.  Iwould get my tires rotated at one oil change and then the next oil change they would be shot. So just for that reason I would never go with Ford ever again.

As for being more "American" I'm a Iraqi Freedom Veteran so don't tell me I need to be more american since I have served my country thank you very much.

So what's your point? That you are foolish enough to purchase a vehicle as a monetary investment? Look, the resale value on any car I've ever had is less than zilch- I drive them for more than ten years because I don't feel the need to impress people with a new car in my driveway every two to four years, and generally have around 200,000 miles on them when it is time to get a new one.

And if we're going to put our DD214's out on the floor to impress the room, that's fine too.

So you're willing to give your life for your country, but not make a purchase that might save American jobs. Real interesting.

So you dig heavy emo music, full body tattoos and sushi? You sound like my kind of chick!

Well, I'm not so much into the emo music.

I have tattoos, but not enough to cover my entire fat ass.

I am all about the sushi, tekka maki and unagi makki are consumed at least three times a week.

As for my taste in women? Well- let's just say I like my women like I like my coffee.

I GOT TO practice Japanese
Dir en grey isn't emo
They are intense and awesome and my favourite band and I want more shirts that have Dir en  grey on them.
They have such gooooood songs! Approve like Ware Yami Tote and Vinushka and the Pledge and lots more....

Also I want more salmon sushi. I am working at the mall again and they seem to have sushi but mostly rolls unlike that nice sushi place in Porter that has more nigiri and also salmon skin sushi but they raised the price
I miss that Japanese super market they had there.

I would get worked up about that, but I know its a hoax. eHarmony deleted my account because when they asked "What would you like to find in a woman?" I answered "My c*ck".

But that picture does make me all excited in my tickle spot.
