It's even worse when said commercials don't really explain the connection between A & B, and they don't understand the difference between correlation and causation.

An arborist friend of mine mentioned that the reason that Roundup ended up in the crosshairs of so many ambulance chasers is because the FDA listed the active ingredient(s) as possible carcinogens.  So the A/Cs made the leap from "possible carcinogen" to "Roundup causes cancer; the manufacturer must be punished".  And at least one jury bought it hook, line and sinker.
