    Posted: 28 Nov 2008 at 11:59pm

So it's the day after Thanksgiving, I'm trying to relax and watch a nice, quiet movie on TV before our buffet supper of turkey dinner leftovers Thumbs%20Up and this commercial is running EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK!!!

The vid title says it's from last Christmas, but I don't remember seeing it last year.

Normally I love "Carol of the Bells" but not every seven or eight minutes...sheesh.
Dozens and dozens of threads killed.

Maybe they'll stop their stupid ads to honor the employee that was killed by the frenzied early-bird sale crowd today. They probably won't, though. Unhappy

No kidding, I really feel for that guy's family... as for the assholes who ran him over and didn't even stop to help, I hope their stockings are filled with sh*t and broken glass this year. I heard those people even complained when they were told to leave the store AFTER being told an employee had died! WTF???
You owe the companies nothing. You don't owe them any courtesy. They have rearranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked your permission, don't even start asking for theirs.

That commercial is utterly ridiculous.

As if any Walmart ever had that many lanes open at one time.

I didn't know there were that many check-out lanes, period, at any Wal-Mart.

As the other posters said, Wal-mart has never had that many lanes open. The lines are longer than John Holmes dong, and they still refuse to open more lanes. Plus, have you EVER seen an attractive wal-mart employee? Let alone one that actually smiles????

I swear Mrs Doggie and I were at "walmart*"Thanksgiving Day browsing around before we went to her parents for dinner, and I overheard a manager say "We're not gonna open up anymore checkout lanes"Wacko

Just waiting for YouTube to process it. Not my BEST work, I've done better, but it was quick and easy.

Uploading to my alternate account. You know, in case some litigious individual doesn't understand "parody."

^^^^^So do I!!!     There used to be a local commercial that used that tune and inserted different lyrics(for a holiday light sho I think) and I used to think of it when I heard this song.   Now that I've heard "Ding Fries Are Done" thanks to Peter Griffin and Family Guy, I only think that when I hear "Carole Of the Bells".

DING FRIES ARE DONE!!
DING FRIES ARE DONE!!

mrs. kuribo thought i should have included footage of the walmart employee that got trampled to death on black friday, but I figured that if that were MY family, i wouldn't want some a-hole on the internet using my relative's picture for a youtube video that makes fun of a commercial

here is my beef with bullsh*t ads like this and any sort of place where there are customer service reps to "help" you - walmart, costco ( sort of ) shoprite ( or any food supermarket )..

what they "show" you in the ad is a bunch of smiling, proud, un-affected ready to help happy customer service reps all healthy, strong and ready to take on Joe Customer with a greeting and a smile ( See:  the circuit city   (? ) ad that has the customer talking to the camera in a restaurant who gave a different price online  - the "fake" customer service rep introduces camera at real price )......

What you get in real life - Uneducated, nasty people who can't use a register and roll their eyes, or get angry if u ask a question and practically throw the receipt and card back at you after making a buy.

life on TV is such BULLsh*t - show me any store with  the people they show "flicking those lights to christmas jingles" like walmart - WHERE IS IT???

im lucky to leave my local walmart with my LIFE, never mind getting a smile from these nasty creeps

All Store ads are 100 percent PHONEY and LIES.

And some customers does not treat the employees bad.  Wow, what a fantasy life you live.  How would you like to be doing your job, just following the rules and policies.  Then having a customers demand this and that and all the while you are going by the company policies.  Just to have a spineless manager cave in and give the sucky customer what they wanted.  Have that happen about say five times a day, everyday.  Tell me, you would not be all cheery eyed and happy.

Why do you think WalMart is a terrible place to work?  Because of worse crap then that.  You can be happy going into work.  But you will have that one customer that ruins your day and each day, it is the same.

Maybe my WalMart is different, but I've found the workers to be pleasant and helpful.  Just the other day, one worker in the food department would not give up trying to find what I wanted, even when I told her thanks I'd just check back next time.  She found it in the stock room, and came looking for me!

But I understand that people have had bad experiences.  Maybe it varies store to store.

Thor,

Where is a Wal-Mart in the Bay area?  When my son moved there in 2003, all we could find in the way of a discount store was Target.

Fantasy life ?  I stand there and hand a credit card, I don't say a word.  If a customer service person has an issue with a previous customer then thats not my problem.  the idea of customer service is to expect to deal with some jerk customers, but it's not a free pass to treat every one else in line minding their own business like they are a terrorist just coming to the store for no other reason but to stand on line cause I want to bother them!
If you can't deal with the pressure of being a customer service rep and have the maturity to put things in place and know how to treat other people with respect even with the pressures of a creepy boss and other pesky customers, then don't do it!  Im not the one who applied for the job where it is as obvious as your left hand that you are dealing with people all day.    And yes, I am the customer - I expect to get good service if I am spending money in the establishment.   It's a fantasy for me to think that a person who is paid to check people out might actually do it with respect ?   How am I disrespecting the rep just because I am handing over a credit card..?    You're the one who's living the fantasy.   Maybe you should try to accept the fact that they hand you a paycheck for your time during the day - You're not being handcuffed and dragged into a situation and forced to take my money - you signed up for it.     Unfortunatly I stand by my feelings - which my point is, that you missed -  the ads are LIES and the people are CREEPS.  Basically, through all of this, you did in fact back up my point.  Have a nice day :)

Oh and just for the record - the ADS are the fantasies - there are no stores like that.

I shouldn't be questioned on my 'want' of a decent service transaction when I spend money. The more the people that start to get irked like this, the less these places will get customers coming in.

So where am I wrong - for posting a "fantasy' to you, or commenting on the "fantasy" I see on TV.  Obviously  if I am wrong to you, and there is a fantasy in what I say, then you must agree the Ads are just fantasies since you are more or less agreeing that customer service SUCKS in these over hyped cheap stores that get advertised 24/7

Make up your mind, which fantasy is more troubling to you - the one on TV, or the fact that someone dare speak up against nasty reps in stores.

Nasty reps are just that - nasty reps.  If you need to carry a chip on your shoulder because 5 customers prior to me disagreed on a price ( Hmmmm or should we just shut up if something comes up 10 dollars more than the posted price, when at check out )...then you obviously aren't mature enough to deal with the public and need to be kept in the back of the warehouse away from people.  Its reality.   Deal with it, or get out.     Just don't force bullsh*t on me in commercials to convince me the store is "nice and friendly" when I know already, it's not.

Get my point now....?
