At least Allstate went for one of their other hits instead of "West End Girls".

Black people don't like Pet Shop Boys.   I am not being racist, I am being honest. White nerds like I do.  If they want to retro to the 80s,  have him listening to Anita Baker.    There.  I said it.  Lets riot.

Neil Tennant had that whole trench coat look working for him back then, Chris Lowe sort of reminded me of a friend of mine in the West End Girls video. My friend was a Polish chap I met when I was in the RAF. He was a defector back then, good mate of mine. Unfortunately the bloody Soviets had him bumped off for knowing too much about them. They didn't like the fact that he was friends with those of us who were in the RAF. That's one time that friendship was deadly. I won't post his name, it's still classified.

Same here.

Another one from around that era, or a couple of years earlier, is this one....

I was in love with the two chick singers. Evil Smile

Especially the dark haired one. Tongue

I saw a video of them doing a live performance about 20 years later and they'd both kind of blimped out.  Cry

The Human League! I loved them. They were a damn good band from Sheffield, Joanne Catherall (the tasty brunette) and Susan Ann Sulley (the blonde lass) were typical Sheffield ladies. They put on a few extra stone after having some bairns, as well as eating a few too many pasties and bacon sarnies, but they can still sing pretty well. I loved their song Human, it's such a great one. Joanne really looks great in that vid for Human.
Are there any other cool acts from the 80's you fancied from the U.K.? I always loved Squeeze, and Ian Dury & The Blockheads....and Ultravox!

I liked Tears For Fears.

I also liked Crowded House, though they were from Australia.

Probably a few other Brit groups who I just can't think of right now.

Can't forget The Police, of course.

For Jimmy. My latest favorite Ian Dury song.

I liked a lotta Brit stuff. Squeeze's Cool for Cats and Up the Junction are two songs I love.

Also, liked the first 3 or 4 OMD albums.

Then, there was all the earlier stuff. Too much to mention.

Another cool Ian Dury song is Billericay Dickie! as for the Squeeze song, Cool For Cats (also a favourite of mine), it was sung by the Squeeze songwriter Chris Dillford, sung in his perfect Cockney accent. The real Cockney, unlike that sh*te that Dick Van Dyke tried to mimic in Mary Poppins.

I like the Pet Shop Boys. A lot of my friends do. We're black. Don't presume to tell us what we like.

Because hint: That's racist.

I liked Bowie and T. Rex way back when. Not that either of them were gay, but they had that look, and sometimes that gayish singing voice that many Brit singers have (Pet Shop Boys, Mark Bolan, Al Stewart, Donovan, Peter Perret).

Love Al Stewart. Saw him with Gary Wright at a concert a few years ago. Met him after the show and had my picture taken with him. Great guy!
