I saw an airline commercial today............

It was a pretty lady with a toothy smile, in her official airline uniform. She talked about a wonderful, restful flights on THEIR system. Then; not to be sexist or to include the LGBT folks....... They paraded out a dude to smile at the camera.  He talked about the speed of their airline and how you would enjoy your trip if you used them. Of course everyone was all smiles and the impression was "life is good with THEM!" There was no mention of prices or the check-in system.

Have you been to an airport lately? First go look at a cattle "HOLDING PEN." Then the folks trying to get through security.  The only thing missing are the MMMOOOOOOoooo's

I used to travel as part of my job..... Never again.......... The only way I'd go back to it, would be if I was paid enough so I could afford my own jet.

In the future I see ............................. NO "CARRY-ON" bags.

Everyone will be issued a set of paper overalls WITHOUT pockets. All the baggage and your street cloths and carry-on's will be loaded into a glider that is towed behind the passenger aircraft.

The paper coveralls will keep anyone from bringing ANYTHING on board.

So if the glider explodes................... "OH WELL" <shrug>

I'd like to start a new topic!  'If You Sound Like Donna'

Now you are just a.........

I flew out of Chicago at the end of December.  I did not have to take off my shoes.  I did not have to take anything out of my bags, even though I had a laptop and an iPad with me.  I did not have to step through the full body scanner/electron scrambler.  It was like going to an airport in the days before 9/11 and it was very weird.  I suppose that it could have had to do with the shutdown, but it was only a few days after it started.  Flying out of Denver to Chicago in the middle of December was the typical take everything out of your bags, strip/cavity search extravaganza that it always is.

I know, not completely related to the topic, but this has already gone off-topic.

WOWOW!!!!!  In Chicago??????  I think you were in some sort of time warp...………...
Departing early morning from O'Porto Portugal in 2003 I was behind a young lady at the security line. Xray discovered tiny scissors in her carry on which she was required to surrender. When the flight reached cruising altitude breakfast was served. Wrapped in a linen napkin was stainless steel "silverware". The knife had a 4+inch pointy, serrated "steak knife" blade! ???

The only airline commercials I've seen in recent years are for Delta and Southwest--and more often than naught they appear during sporting events (either national or regional sports network)
