I was watching a show called “Storage Wars.” Now for those of you that have been living under a rock. This is (supposedly) a group of random people that bid on storage units that have been abandoned or not paid for. They bid and then they get to sell the items in the unit. All these people (again supposedly) own 2nd. Hand stores to sell all this junk at. Rarely do you see these stores or them actually SELL anything. The “stars” always win the bid. And when they cut the locks off they are always the same. (like someone has already been IN the unit.) One lady is always dressed like she is ready for church and not digging around in junk piles. But she shows off some nice cleavage so who am I to complain? Some other bidders will be shown but only a select few actuality WIN the bids. My question, should someone here bother to answer, is: Occasionally one “star” will just run the bid higher. He (or She) has no intention of buying the unit. They just want others to have to pay more for it. So they bid higher and then stop bidding at the correct moment. Others have to pay more for the unit and it makes for good T.V. I suppose? Is this not a crime? It sure sounds like legal theft to me. |

I haven't watched this show since Barry Weiss left but I think I know some of what's going on.
The 'stars' win random units stockpiled full of stuff. However, occasionally they do NOT win and those are cut out of the broadcast. A&E doesn't want the viewer to see a random stranger win a unit and go through it, that's not related to the Storage Wars crew. Sometimes, units that don't have much in value are skipped as well. I couldn't stand Darrell and his 'that's a $40 bill right there' schtick. Denominations of paper money in America are $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100...NOT $40, NOT $80!! Idiot! Also why they brough YUUUP Dave back after he decided to leave, I have no idea. Don't care, don't bother. Barry's gone, so I haven't watched in years. Personally I've never been to one of those sales here, because where would I put all the stuff? I love yard and estate sales, keep that in mind...
