This isn't a bash because I like Michael Phelps' swimming, but make no mistake about it...all these commercials have been proving over and over again is ALL he is is a swimmer.  No, his face isn't particularly photogenic, but that wouldn't be so bad if he actually had SOME television-personalty skill, which he does not in the least.  He talks kind of on the "dopey teen" side and that always bugs me when grown men are like that.

He always looks so out of place with people. His arms are super long and his legs are short which makes him look like an orangutan or something like that. I'm not saying he's ugly, because I think his face is okay looking, it's just his body I hate.

It was cool that he broke the record and all, but man did I get sick of seeing this guy during the olympics, and now I have to see him on commercials too?  Hasn't America pretty much forgotten about him yet?  He's old news now. :P

I find him minimally offensive, at least. His lack of personality translates to a general lack of obnoxiousness.

I don't get mad at Phelps, cause let's face it, if some guy from a company came up and asked any damned one of us to be their spokesman for major cash, we'd be FOOLS for not taking the coin straight to the bank. However, these guys need to realize that you can overdo something and stick celebs in the public's face too often and turn them against the celeb. All I have against Paris Hilton is that, Idon't want to see her slutty, girraffe-necked ass everytime I go in the grocery store or turn on the TV. But they just go by the "HOT-ness" of the item at that particular moment. It's strange how the media in it's quest to throw what is HOT at the moment at us, actually has a cooling effect on said HOT item. In the case of Phelps, if he ever does get cold, I am MORE than sure Mooch would volunteer to uh....heat him up!!!   LOL (ducks)
AW DAMN!!!! Wild Shot the friggin TV again!!!

The media was drooling over him every chance they got.  I got sick of him the first day.

I'm sure he has a personality---just not the correct one for TV and movies.  He could probably use a team of publicists and image-makers to create a new personality for him---one that will make us like him more, and make him more marketable.  That way, we-the-public can really get to know what he's really all about.

Has anybody seen him on the Kelloggs Corn Flakes box? They actually show the side of his face with the shark teeth instead of the other side. He may be a good swimmer, but attractive he isn't. He's too lanky, his teeth are scary and when he talks, he sounds like an idiot.

I'm getting tired of hearing about the Michael Phelps potroversy.  So, he smoked a little pot.  Big deal.  I don't like pot myself, and, in fact, believe it's bad for most people...but c'mon already!  He's 23.  23 year-olds smoke pot.

I hate all the moms in an uproar over the stupid pot things. Big deal, if your kids impressionable enough to smoke pot because Phelps did it, your kid's an idiot. There are worse things in the world then pot, people need to realize that.
