Beautiful woman. Gave life to 6 of us. Love my mom. Will always miss her. A woman who suffered no fools and gave me strength and wisdom. A true friend missed by so many
Here's to you mom. Godspeed. Enjoy your journey.

So sorry to hear of your loss, msmadz!!!

Went through the same thing myself a few months ago.

Nothing tougher and sadder than losing your mom.

Hang in there and stay tough.

You'll be together again someday as I hope I'll be with my mom & dad.

Deepest condolences to you and your family!!!!

RIP to your wonderful mother.

Thank you jimbo! I can't believe she's gone. She passed a half hour before I got there but she was home and went peacefully in her sleep. Can't think of a better send off

Thank you all. We got her out of the hospital and back home where she wanted to be. A shot of morphine with a one way ticket to euphoria and that was it.she passed about a half hour before I got there. I never had a loved one die at home.but she was content and that's all that matters.

Sorry about your mom.  Been there, done that, too.  I believe in a 'next world', as I saw my dad for a split second, waiting for my mom to cross over as I sat with her in the ER.  So have hope you'll see her again (hopefully a long time from now... Wink )

My dad passed away in 2004. In all the years since then, he never appeared to me in a dream one single time. On the day my mom died, right before I woke up and just for a second, for no reason or anything to do with anything else I was dreaming about, he suddenly appeared. Just for a second and just standing there smiling and then he was gone and I woke up.

I hope that means something.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, Madawee.  My father went similarly (with the morphine) back in 2001.  I still miss him and my mother.

I am so sorry to hear that your Mom passed away, Madawee. Such horrible and heartbreaking news.
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D.😀 Hitting on a Lesbian who speaks to you and about you like trash means you're REALLY desperate! 😀

So sorry to hear that. I know my life is forever changed too.

It's seems so strange sometimes when I realize that just having her presence in the world is no more.

Keep in mind, I was 60 years old when my mom died, so I've lived the majority of whatever amount of time I'll ultimately end up having had, with my mom as part of my life.

I wonder which is the worse way for it to happen. Suddenly, like the way your mom passed, or dragged out over several months like the way my mom passed. Stuck in a nursing home, incapacitated, sad and depressed, having strange people tend to all if your most personal functions.

Or worse yet, sick with disease and in physical pain.

No matter which way is worse, none of them are good.

Yeah, it's strange not having my parents around.  They both died the same year.  At that point, I realized I was now an orphan, and also that---gulp---my bro and I are next.

You have family and you always will.

Many of us have loved and lost...some of us may be caring for elders in their final days so they may live them out free and as independent as possible while not being too far away from earning our very own MudMonkeyMeritBadge. Heck, my own kids have already breached the topic of "Who is going to care for Daddy?", including volunteering. which got them a loving Thank You and hefty ass-chewing (my name ain't 'Gummy'). As hard as it is to keep the positive spin on it all, we must remember to smile on as we are now in the twilight and know not how many more smiles we will see...the frustrations do nobody any good, so let them go.
Celebrate life...especially at the end. Remember the good times - tell those stories.

Or as Steve Martin once said on Letterman, talking about getting older... "I used to have long range plans. Now they've become short range plans".

Or something to that effect.
