I think this topic has been touched upon here before, the advanced search is working again if anyone wants to find it.

Search instead for Manfred man - wrapped up like a douche lyrics

Blinded by the Light
Manfred Mann's Earth Band

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Peace of Mind by Boston. The actual lyric is "I understand about indecision, dut I don't care if I get behind"

For a long time I heard it as "I understand about indecision, but I don't care about FBI"
"I see the sadness in their eyes
Melancholy in their cries
Devoid of all the passion
The human spirit cannot die"

The one that always comes to my mind is Springsteen's Tenth Avenue Freeze Out.

Always sounded to me like Tent Devil Will He Freak Out?.

Rick James - Super Freak

She's a very kinky girl,
The kind you don't take home to mother
She will never let your spirits down,
Once you get her off the street.
She likes the boys in the band,
She says that I'm her all time favorite
When I make my move to her room,
It's the right time, she's never hard to please.
That girl is pretty wild now
The girl's a super freak
The kind of girl you read about
In the new wave magazines.
That girl is pretty kinky
The girl's a super freak
I'd really like to taste her
Every time we meet.
She's all right, she's all right
That girl's all right with me yeah.
She's a super freak, super freak,
She's super freaky, super freak, super freak.
She's a very special girl,
From her head down to her toenails
Yet she'll wait for me at backstage with her girlfriends,
In a limousine.
Three's not a crowd to her, she said
"Room 714, I'll be waiting."
When I get there she's got incense, wine and candles
It's such a freaky scene.
That girl is pretty wild now
The girl's a super freak
The kind of girl you read about
In the new wave magazines.
That girl is pretty kinky
The girl's a super freak
I'd really like to taste her
Every time we meet.
She's all right, she's all right
That girl's all right with me yeah.
She's a super freak, super freak,
She's super freaky, super freak, super freak.
Temptations sing, oh, super freak,
Super freak, the girl's a super freak, oh.
She's a very kinky girl,
The kind you don't take home to mother
She will never let your spirits down,
Once you get her off the street.

2 from Elton John:

Hold me closr, Tony Danza... Count the head lice on the highway/
)Hold me closer, tiny dancer, Count the headlights on the highway).

My mother thought these were the lyrics:
B-B-B-B-Bernie and the Chimps!
(Bennie and the Jets)

One I heard on the radio and almost ran off the road from laughing:

Slow Cousin Walter!
(Smoke on the water...)
The artist formerly known as Madawee

Groovin', The Young Rascals:

Life would be ecstacy
You and me and Leslie

Life would be ecstacy
You and me endlessly

For most of my life, I thought it was the former.  I wondered who Leslie was.  One equally clueless friend thought it referred to Leslie West (of Mountain), as the Rascals and Mountain were connected.  Still didn't make sense, though.

When I was a child, I wondered who Jan and Brad were.  Were they famous?  Should I know them?

For YEARS now I always thought they lyrics to Put Me In Coach was:

Put me in cold
I'm ready to fade
To fade
Put me in cold
I'm ready to fade
To fade
Look at me
I could be
Your second meal

The actual lyrics were:
Put me in coach
I'm ready to play
To play
Put me in coach
I'm ready to play
To play
Look at me
I could be
Center field
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Bruce Springsteen's cover lyrics are listed as "cut loose like a deuce" (1932 Ford). Kind of interchangeable in hot rod slang. With the total solar eclipse 4 days away I have been thinking of the "Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun
Oh, but Mama, that's where the fun is"! Lyrics. Not much fun with permanently burned retinas.

Since this is a thread about misheard lyrics, I feel it's incumbent upon me to point out to you that the word is "EYES" of the sun.

"Mama always told me
Not to look into the
Eyes of the sun"

To be fair, I wasn't the only one who heard "New wave magazines," as Newsweek Magazine," a Celebrity went on a T.V show called "VH1 Greatest One Hit Wonders Of All Time," and mentioned "Superfreak," by Rick James and said ,"The girl you don't take home to mother, the girl in Newsweek Magazine(He had a WTF look on his face as he said this)
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D.😀 Hitting on a Lesbian who speaks to you and about you like trash means you're REALLY desperate! 😀

When I was a little kid, when I first heard Highwayman by The Highwaymen, in the line "Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade" I thought "baubles" was "bottles". Thought bottles were an odd thing to be stealing but at the time I hadn't heard the word "baubles" before so it didn't register as being something else.
