The original post is in "Commercial Talk," so I'm copying it here, because I HATE THESE STUPID ADS WITH A PASSION!
Four years and counting, and they're STILL airing this garbage: This has been followed by the now infamous Ms. "Awesome Sauce" and Mr. "Frog Protection." Remember them? If not, good, keep it that way. You don't wanna know. And lately, of course, there's these two blondes... ... and these two tools with hipster stubble. I've seen the guy who plays the service rep before, too. He plays the same kind of "everyman" twerp in a few other ads. OK, Discover adholes, listen and listen good... STOP IT! |

I guess if you ever feel like having a chin wag with a stranger who sounds just like yourself, you can call Discover! Personally, I hate talking to people. Machines are better. Faster. Smarter. Not as ingratiating and unable to help you in the end anyway.

You must be watching the NHL playoffs. Each of these is on multiple times per hour.

Yep. Every season. The NHL needs better sponsors, and better announcers for that matter.

It's been pretty much the exact same commercials for the last four or five years.

^^^'Peggy' was my favorite series
There were a whole slew of 'Peggy' 1-offs, including a hilarious 'Peggy goes to Disneyland' which I cannot find anymore - but things more like this where you can tell a commercial character has garnished a decent following: |

Why stop with Pittsburgh? Why not make Peggy bigger than life? Peggy does Pennsylvania?

Two old men get together every morning for coffee. One day Joe says to Jim...
"Ever go to say something, and something completely different comes out of your mouth?" What do you mean? says Jim Well, the other day I was at the airport and the girl at the ticket counter had these huge breasts. I meant to ask for two tickets to Pittsburg, but instead I asked for "two pickets to Tittsburg." "Oh, I know what you mean" says Jim. "The other night at dinner I meant to ask my wife to pass the butter, but instead I wound up saying 'You bitch, you've ruined my life." |

The one that always pisses me off is the one featuring the young woman who lost her card and puts everything on freeze frame. When it turns back on in real life an insect looking poof sleazes his way through a club while doing a very bad dance step to try and entrap her.
She should've kicked him in the balls before putting on freeze frame again!
