The new DQ commercials...I feel so immature after watching them.
I feel like a 12-year-old on a sugar rush, in the middle of suburbia. I feel like I am seeing the first-ever assistant manager for a DQ

I was only about 10 years old, my parents bought me the coolest Schwinn Stingray with 3 speeds and 'I used em all'. It also had a big 2 inch wide slick tire on the back.
I was allowed to ride the 3 1/2 miles, in a very rural area, to get to Dairy Queen in Zionsville.
I think I needed 26 cents for a large Dipped Cone.
I don't get all of these mixing of flavors and I never will.

Things I hate about this commercial:
1. Twerpy cooperate manager who is literally the shortest person working there. 2. His 10th level arrogant looking muppet douche face. 3. How petrified the kid looks when he admits to mixing similar tasting candy into the blizzard (what the hell is that place. A freakin ice cream internment camp?) I also remember buying a large dipped cone for just over a quarter. One flavor, and I was happy with that. |

Thats the trend. All fast food is trying to distance itself from the term ' Fast Food '. Their replacements are really cringey. Louisiana Fast is one the dumbest.

Well it finally happened. The old school at least 1960s vintage 'Dairy Queen' signage at my local Dairy Queen been replaced by the current logo 'DQ' signage withe the italics and colorful swooshes. First impression? As I was riding as a passenger by it. I was impressed by it due to the fact it was colorful and it stood out. Now I'm obcessed about seeing it again! I used to hate the logo for how cheap it looked but seeing it in person really changed my mind!
I also liked the fact that the speaker said at the end "Welcome to Dairy Queen" instead of "Welcome to DQ" |

I had one of those! The green one, it was called the Pea Picker. Aptly named, too, because if you came offa that nanner seat into that big gear shift on top of the male rail, you got yer peas picked. |

Ha! my first job at age fifteen was at the local DQ - the Manager was an equally stupid ass - if anything the kid should get a bonus on his minimum wage check for contributing to the advert for the 'Bluzzard of the Month.'

Stingray bikes were just starting to happen when I was about 9 in 1965. I got the Stingray handlebars, banana seat and sissy bar to adapt my regular bike to this new thing. |

The manager has the creepiest smile ever. Like he's going to watch you change later.
The way the kid is so relieved he's going to cry is just... wow. They must beat them with plastic spoons or something. And the way the guy next to the kid is a judgmental dickhead then cheers for him is just odd. Seems like an ass kisser. |

Don't feel bad, Sarge - I always wanted and got one, either. My FIRST bike was actually a 10-speed - and, really? I've had many bikes, mostly 10 or greater speeds.
However I can say I remember one of the most boring of my life (1967-68, Dad was in Viet Nam and we were stuck in Decatur, Illinois) when I rode from Decatur to Elwin for a Dairy Queen Choco-dipped cone. It rained all the way back.
