I'm not sure how this found it's way into my head. I was starting my first marriage, a train wreck.

Just can't forget it much less the musician...how many people know his background? Fascinating.

I've got a ton of Tonio K's recording insanity.

How many people were 'Small Faces' fans? Granted, we were in Europe and SF were not big in the USA...but how many of you realize how much both Led Zepplin and The Rolling Stones owed Marriott? Long before Plant & Page...how about this in 1966? |

The Humble Pie song sounds a bit like AC/DC.
And the Small Faces? Coulda been the Funny Faces. That was some bad hair they had back then. In a similar genre, a CA friend of mine just saw Jeff Beck perform on Long Island. Paul Rodgers of Bad Company was the opening act. I liked about two songs by Bad Company in their day. Otherwise, I could do without them. I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff Beck, though. |

I was a SF fan when I was 10 y/o because of their song Itchycoo Park.. But as far as who owes who what, long before SF there were Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon... |

HP & 30DITH were very popular with a lot of guys in my high school. I wasn't a huge fan myself. |

Old song, current band. Just heard the Black Keys cover of the Sonics' garage rock classic Have Love, Will Travel. Almost as nasty as the Sonics' version.

That's not leet speak, it's just me being too lazy to type it out. |

I gotta wonder what poor ol' Paladin would've thought about that... Or Richard Boone, anyway. |

Yeah, the title of the song was taken from the title of the TV show. In fact, I think I saw the TV show listed on today's TV schedule.

I've heard that. Never knew the name. That's how instrumentals are, for the most part.

As great of a guitarist as Beck is, he bores me. I give up because I've wasted too many brain cells already and I'm lazy and NOT going to spend the time - what is 30DITH? Got to admit it - I've always been a Humble Pie fan and I think the Rolling Stones would have been a much better group with Steve Marriott, although I couldn't see a duet between Jagger and Marriott. |

I don't see how the Stones could've been any better. Not that they're my favorite (in fact, after Some Girls, they sucked), but in terms of greatness, little can compare to them.

Your parents let you listen to psycho music when you were 10? Now I understand... "Itchycoo Park" was everywhere - crap, you should have seen West Germany and Holland back then. Your parents wouldn't go to the park or take you to one. In Amsterdam Unsafe. You might stick a needle in your arm and get high there. And I was there for another 10 years after the song came out... Just another day in another in Amsterdam, or maybe Weisbaden or Toronto, but not near 'The Den' because the wonderful people one meets rapidly become too needy and if you don't watch yourself, you become another statistic and one of them...and don't have armature artists like me around...this is one of my favorite sports! |

I am a huge Small Faces/ Humble Pie fan. Steve Marriott inspired so many bands, even after his death. The Black Crowes sound very like Humble Pie in their earliest albums.
I was heartbroken when I heard that Steve Marriott died, and the way that he died was so bloody tragic.

...something that I don't go looking for because it reminds me how old some of our board members are, if they're still alive. Glad I'm on the 'gentle downslope of youth'... |
