Break out the Kleenex tissues for this one.
Because only a Mercedes can get through the snow. Hope Dad gave young Evan the birds and the bees talking to. |

This is one commercial that I actually like. Reminds me of when I was a kid. My dad drove a Buick though

The only reason I need tissues is because the commercial is too long and I can't get all of the time back that I've lost because I'm forced to watch it as it's on EVERY 5 FKN MINUTES! This makes me sad.

I now realize it is possible for the commercial to be worse than its background music - but wait! Was this shot in Colorado? There seems to be even more going on, here.

Ack!! This is HORRID.
The boy said he was ready. Let's re-shoot it, but give the kid a black romantic boyfriend instead. |

Paw, there's a "special" place for you somewhere.
I'm not sure it's in Hell, but it might be...? I like Thor's idea too.

What a bunch of crap! The ONLY place there is any snow accumulation is in the parking lot at the cinema.
That's only 4 or 5 inches...that's nothing around here.

I like how the "Mom" laying on the couch reading her book, drinking her wine, is all like "Take Him!" Yeah, she's willing to send her loved ones out into ridiculously dangerous weather in order for her to have a few hours of alone time - what if they never made it back? what if she got a phone call from police telling her she needs to come to the hospital ASAP? would she go? or would she be all like, "hmmm..... should I finish this chapter first? I only have two pages left."

Exactly what I noticed in this ad also! I would think the protective mom would ask "Are you f'ing nuts, there's 10 inches of snow out there already, Mikey..reschedule your date!" Guess my parents sucked when I looked forward to a Fri. night grade school dance at the Knights of Columbus about 8 miles from my home - looking forward to seeing a grade school crush..but it was snowing, roads slick and nope..my dad wasn't taking my a** anywhere, mom agreed. Little upset but hey, I got over it! My parents didn't suck, they just had common sense...we also didn't have a Benz. |

yeah, probably if you had a Benz your dad could've ploughed throw that snow like a knife through butter, as we all know Mercedes are the most reliable snow cars ever, much more reliable, then say a Range Rover.... :)

My dad had a decent job but he was simple...and the one thing he never did was p*ss away massive money on cars. I was thinking back to what cars my parents had in the 80s, they were massive "boats." The '77 LTD II and the '76 Malibu Classic. These cars couldn't handle a dusting of snow without fish-tailing all over the place! I ended up with the Malibu Classic in my senior year of high school in 1989..drove it to school, snow started falling in the morning...by around 1pm - when there was about 5, 6 inches of snow already on the ground and accumulating, they finally called for an early dismissal (gee thanks). NOW I had to drive home with this car, the first time I ever drove in snow. Holy sh*t, talk about a white knuckle drive...it took me about 45 minutes to drive 5 miles...but I finally made it. If I attempted to go on a date during a light snowfall back then with icy roads, there would be an 90% chance we'd be killed in a car wreck. |

Mercedes should get bought by Timberland. The same ghetto market loves them both. Buy a Merc, get a free pair of Tims and $50 worth of crack.

Oh, the memories! Back when they made cars that didn't feel like toys.
This car is very similar to the car that my parents had when I was a little kid. The thing was built like a tank. |

^^^that almost looks like my old '72 Galaxy 500, with its 351 Windsor! Those were cars and never meant to look any better than that.

The first thought I had when I saw this commercial was, if I was the parent and the kid came out and said, "I'm ready," my response to him would likely be, "Here's a thought, son....NO! We're NOT risking our lives for a freakin' date! Reschedule."

These are not bad driving conditions, the only place you see heavy snow is in the yard and at the cinema.
I have driven through blizzards, this is nothing. Let the kid squeeze a boob!

At 0:37, where are all the cinema employee cars?
Besides the obvious answer that there aren't any, even if there were, then arguably they are just as adequate at safetly getting to the cinema in a snow storm as this Mercedes! Also, in the mouseprint, "Dad" is claimed to be a "professional driver" (on a closed course). WTF? With those credentials, what's a little snow? All this ridiculous scenario needs now now is a frozen shark, and Fonzie on water-skis.

Seems the parents are just dropping the kids off. So, what's the game plan? Do they plan on coming back in 2 hours when the snow is 3 feet deep? Or do they just plan on letting the kids stay there all night?

There's a cheap motel right next door to the theater. The kids have a room reserved. |
