In view of how Today here is full of screaming crowds, hashtags, and what have you, here's something you've probably never seen: the opening of Today from Australia on Channel 9, 7/29/85. This one, I've seen quite a few times, and IMO, it was far more orderly then than our Today is here.

Yeah, everything back then was a little lower key than it is today, but the news they were reporting seems exactly the same.

Third world conflict and strife, killings....

One things for sure.... the Mick Jagger he was calling "old" back then sure as hell was young compared to the Mick Jagger of today.

Sadly that look didn't last that long it got more generic with each passing decade. I saw a video showing its look through the years. I miss that flyby of cgi objects why don't they do that anymore?
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off
