I remember this commercial that was on when I was little, it was a cough syrup commercial. It scared me so much. It would start with someone sitting at a table, and then they would cough and they would look like they turned into a monster. I think the brand name of the syrup was Dimetapp. I remember the word decongestant scared me for years afterwards because of this commercial, they would flash the word on the screen after the person turned into a monster lol. Does anyone remember this commercial or can find a video of it so I can see it again? I've looked on Youtube but no such luck. It usually aired around Christmas time and might have been a Canadian commercial.

If this helps, the commercial came out in the late '80s or early '90s.

took a quick look around youtube and didn't see this particular commercial but saw several others. some of which were fairly good. well, better than what you'd see on tv nowadays.
this reminds me though, i wonder if progressive will be scaring little children again this halloween. lol |

I should also add that when the person turned into a monster, it was done like stop motion animation.

Now that I had time to think about it, it was more like the face was morphing then stop motion animation, similar to this Fruit Gushers commercial:

*I* wouldn't quite think 'necro', but then again, I wouldn't rule out paraphilias.

Slew of Dimetapp ads here, anything? http://www.yourepeat.com/g/dimetapp
I did see this on the page - but for Sudafed. If I was a 3, 4 year old and I saw this... I would be scared sh*tless to blow my nose ever again! |

Nope wasn't that one, Calvin but thanks for trying! It was for cough medicine though not prescription medicine for sleeping.

I'm starting to think maybe it wasn't Dimetapp. I mean I was only around 4 the first time I saw the commercial and I would always go and hide everytime I saw it afterwards so I'm not sure how much of it I actually saw. It might have been a different cough syrup company.
