LOL  Could be.  But I just tried giving him and Mickey some of my meatball sub, and neither were interested.  They ate the mozzarella and walked away.  Rocco has no interest in human food at all.

Finicky bastards.

I bet if you tossed them a burger patty sans all the ketchup, mustard, pickles and onions, they'd scarf it down.

No way.  When some piece of food is too big and too challenging, they just ignore it.  Maybe I should try not feeding them for a few days.

I actually chew food for them, and then spit it into a bowl.

One thing they do like is cheese.  Not Swiss, though.  Won't eat it.  No idea why.

Another thing they sometimes like is cold cuts...especially roast beef and turkey.  Then again, it depends on their mood (and probably whether or not they'd already eaten).  Cats certainly aren't dogs when it comes to eating.

They also like potato chips sometimes.  Once again, the pieces have to be tiny or else they ignore it.  Too much hassle, I guess.  LOL

Canned tuna is a great treat to give them.

They love it like nothing else.

And it's cheap, too.

They used to love that.  Then they got bored and started demanding chicken salad.  I think they love the mayo.  I know Mal does.  He'll just lick the mayo off and leave the rest.

I know, right?  Smile  Maybe they had to go somewhere that wasn't dog friendly.  In cases like that, a yummy treat or chew stick usually changes their mind.  Wink  I'd love a dog like Blaze!  Heart

Sad to think that some asshole with a high powered rifle would and possibly might, shoot and kill that beautiful animal and have it's head mounted on on a plaque.

I'm amazed how gentle the deer is, he could put a hurtin on that little dog if he wanted to.

Often I would think the same thing until I repeatedly saw them overbreed and flow into public, especially anywhere around the SouthEast USofA - then it becomes 'Open Season'. They're 'loving animals', alright. Back on Wolfy Island, we had plenty of predators, so there never really was an over-population issue.

I can understand allowing hunting to thin down a population that has gotten over abundant.

But a lot of them are killed just for sport.

They are still debating the Wolf hunts around these parts.  Don't shoot me PaW! Wink

Have you seen the damage a deer can do to a car? If there was ever a 'no fault' accident!

The DNR actually compensates the owners of livestock if they are killed by wolves.

Now I agree with what you say there.

I can toss in the little matter of 'killing for food'.
In Schenectady, we had Cuban neighbors who would go hunting and clean their kill in the back yard (no fences!), cook it up, then invite the neighborhood over for what always turned out to be a delicious meal, until one day when they forgot to take Bambi's head off of the picnic table.

Had one in the backyard last Saturday.  She just hung out, eating some of the hedges and grass, before laying down and taking a rest in the shade.

People tell me they often deposit their fawn in some safe, "friendly" yard for short periods of time while they go do whatever it is they do.  Then they come back and get them.  Free daycare, I guess.

Why don't they just get some chicken?  Cheapest food in the world.

I've never had venison.  No interest in even trying it.  I don't care how good it is.

I actually saw a deer jump in front of a Honda Accord a few years back - tore the daylights out of it!
The matter of Wolf Hunts I am normally not in favor of, but when over-population of a specie creates a natural imbalance, then 'the thinning of the herd' becomes a requirement. Wolves must be addressed with great care, though (get my permission, please) as it already has been proven that when they get even a bit too thinned out, the overall impact on the ecosystem has been radical in a negative way, which of course is true with any specie, but it shows up quicker with wolves (often unnatural vegetation overgrowth is an early sign)

I lived 40 some years of my life without ever hitting a deer on the road. In my 16 years in Wisconsin I have hit 3 of them, only once causing damage. The wife nailed one and it was over $3000 damage.

Oh my! Is right!

You know, Jimbo? If we get into an accident with no collision coverage I'm going to blame you.
