People used to say "Excuse me" after they farted or belched real loud in public.

People used to say "Excuse Me" & "Thank You" when they needed to walk either in front of you or between another and yourself having a conversation.

You still remember the day you were born? The second day must have been a real shocker.

I remember when...
'Story Tellers' existed and people cared how they got their message across...way back when 'Musical Entertainment' could not only entertain, but provoke thought, inspiration, and possibly social action, if not jerk a person to the very roots from which they were raised...

Ha!!! That's what the chick at the Checkers Drive Thru said to me earlier today after I thanked her for doing her job... "No problem!!" I thought to myself... "I hope it wasn't a problem, seeing as how it's your job." |

I remember when... there was no internet & people couldn't while away their lives having pointless conversations with people they've never met in person about things they remember from their past, unless they were on a phone connected to the wall by a wire.

I can remember when the highest number of speeds most bicycles had was 3. And those were called "English Racers". |

Wow that was powerful! Its a damn shame that today's popular music is nothing but repetitive beats and shallow lyrics. Sad. |

(I JUST came out of the garage/shop after finishing off a 15-speed for our oldest daughter's 33rd b'day. It was a monster to restore, but it is a sharp bike for 'ride around the neighborhood' (across the pond at the townhome)...YEA! I remember 3-speeds being SO much easier.
And the Missus, in all her glory and admiration had only one thing to say...
"Where's the child seat on the back, for the 'Raisin'?"
*I* remember when the stinkin' fam appreciated the blessings granted them...

My sister had one. Black with white pin stripes & white tips on the ends of the fenders, which all bikes had back then. Similar to this one... . |

There are now bicycles with 30 speeds and cars with 9. Back in the 60s and 70s bikes had 1,3, 5, and 10 speeds and cars had 2 or 3 speed automatics or 3 or 4 speed manuals. |

I think for most of the 60's, bikes had 3 speeds tops.
I don't think 10 speeds came around until the early/mid 70's. |

...TV Guide stopped listing programs that were broadcast in color and started noting that a show or movie was black and white.
I also remember when we only had 4 channels on TV and then my dad brought home a little converter box to sit on top of the set that gave us three more channels on the UHF band. Also remember the Mutual Radio Network and when CNN was considered "Turner's Folly" and wouldn't last more than a year. That was in '80 |

I remember back in the 80's when cable TV was still fairly new, the old TV's with no remotes, used these...
...the channel selector slider box. It connected to the cable receiver with a long wire, about 15 or 20 feet long so you could stretch it across the room. And check out all those channels you got... must be like, 43!!!! Wow!!! |
