It comes from an Apple smartphone (iPhone) product. Yesterday I saw a preschooler with Angry Bird shoes!

I've seen this quite a bit recently actually. I've wondered how kids were even coming into knowledge of Angry Birds in the first place - perhaps parents hand their phones with the game to their kids when they are being unruly in lieu of proper discipline.

The prospect of parents actually buying smartphones with all the bells and whistles for their preschool or elementary age kids is ridiculous to me. These kids should be more worried about coming home to Barney the Purple Dinosaur rather than texting their friends.

LOL  Yes!

My 9 y/o neighbor likes to show me such "funny" videos.  They're usually very juvenile and involve kiddie cartoon characters that I've never even heard of.  Usually, one video will lead to another.  I put up with it, though.  He's a good kid.

Parents these days slap their ipad in their kids hands by age 2. they grow up with it, and inevitably become a lot smarter with the technology than the parents are.
The schools around me give every student an ipad to use for school/homework (I can't even comprehend how much that costs the taxpayers (*cough* me), and low and behold the students hacked them to download games, apps, and porn by day 1.

Excellent!  There's nothing more annoying than trying to visit with people, and having to compete with all the beeps and bleeps and buzzes and ringtones of their technology signalling them about something or other.  And even if they don't reply to whoever or whatever, they usually at least check it out.  It's like Pavlov's dogs.

Especially nice since they have a semi-detached room that's used to host the occasional gathering/booze-up. Prevents more than a few people from doing some drunken foolishness with their phones. They are pretty nice and have about 20 chargers set up there so you can at least not worry about your device dying out.

^Yes, that was aired a lot a few months back--I guess companies are glad they have a new "device" to use in their stupid commercials.

Yesterday I just heard of another study that came out finding that people who don't have children are happier and more satisfied than people who do. Married couples w/out kids are a lot happier than couples with kids. There have been several studies recently to come up with those findings (a major one in Jan 2014). I'm single and I agree (if I had children they would either be dead or wild things).

Of course, if people didn't have as many kids it would cut way into the profits of many companies.
A new study finds that people who are chipper & happy live longer. Which is surprising because people who aren't chipper & happy want to kill people who are always chipper & happy. David Letterman

Stouffer's has a commercial now that incorporates the "teen and her cellphone" thing into it.  In the commercial, the girl's parents are shocked when she puts her cellphone down on the table to concentrate on eating her Stouffer's lasagne, even ignoring it when it buzzes.

Amen to that!  There are several ads out there featuring kids with  C-POD (Cell Phone Obsession Disorder), that are pure idiocy,   including  the Disney one with that brat ignoring her family and acting like a total jerk throughout the expensive vacation until - ooooh, heart-string-pulling moment - she reveals she's been taking pictures of everyone with her little phone all the time, so of course all is forgiven.  Oh please.  Enough already with the indulgent parents with too much money and not enough common sense to teach their kids basic manners.     Just the snarly look on the little princess in this ad - let alone the shrieking - should be enough to revoke all phone privileges and merit a grounding at the very least.  Who'd want to buy Jello after watching this ad, anyway?

That girl is horrible.  I've known girls like that.  That shrieking thing is especially annoying.

I'm convinced that parents continue loving their children into adolescence mainly because they have to.  I don't have to love her, so I'm all for pushing her off a cliff.

I was talking to my nine year old cousin and found out she's not allowed an iPhone (like her 10 and 12 year old siblings have) until age 10. The horror. I don't understand why any kid needs a phone before driving age. And I was a latchkey kid with a wildly irresponsible sperm donor!

Anyway. A phone in Jello would ruin it. Stupid commercial. Stupid side ponytail

Her parents can't actually criticize her because they're the ones who got her started (usually with some cellphone that gives her access to only a few numbers---in case of an emergency, of course).  It'd be like a drug dealer becoming irate when one of his customers becomes addicted.

I'm sorry if someone already posted this but I searched "jello"and didn't find it. How stupid is it that these "grown ups"/parents have to put the phone in jello to stop kid from using it. This is when you grow a "pair" and take the phone away--you're probably paying for the damn thing!
