ConfusedYea, this oooooold KFC commercial is back in full-force - except the "...chikken paut PIiiiz" are not $3.99, anymore.

No, that ain't 'Bo and Luke in the 'General Lee'' - more like 'Bro & Duke in the 'Stud-Be-Me''.

This commercial always affects me -even  if I'm NOT watching, but can hear it in the background. Once I hear the O'Jays music, well..it's all over. I fall right into 'Boggie Mode' and start my 'Duck Dance'; I may as well be dressed up in a zoot-suit and stacks (and give me that STUD pendant hanging off the car mirror) on me, and give me an Afro. Call me 'FauxBro' and gimme a 'chikken paut piiie' - I's 'classic'!

I'm confused...are chicken pot pies something KFC used to do? I don't really get the whole "old school" aspect of it.

Seems the pot pies were introduced in 1994.  But, somehow, featuring a 90's Honda wouldn't exactly conjure up warm, fuzzy feelings of old-timey goodness.

Is "boggie mode" something that only occurs on "Boggie Nights"?

Those nights when you have a bad case of the "Rockin' Pneumonia & the Boggie Woggie Flu"?

I've always liked it, even though I wasn't really into the music back then. Love the black guy's look and his moves from 0:06 to 0:10.

Wondering why this is on the Commercials You Hate !!!!! forum and not one of the others. Oh, because this is the only one that most people come to.

Confuseduhhh...no - that would not be correct. It would be more in line with 'because *I* don'r care for the f'king commercial', thank you very much - I just like making fun of it more.

Ah, sorry, didn't read carefully or note the sarcasm/emoticon.

I don't care for the shortened version because I only really like the beginning. And I only realized it was an ad for pot pies in the last week.

Why does every depiction of the 70s look exactly the same? Did everyone REALLY look this way or is it just for exaggeration purposes? Signed - child of the 80s.

I was wondering if anyone would say this.  They are very good, but something like 1000 calories & 50 grams of saturated fat so I rarely get them.  Now that seed is planted, though, so.....
