who would they be? BTW, you get one "honorable" mention, as in after you've cut your three, which would be on the block next if you were allowed to chop one more?

Mine:

AT&T
McDonalds
Progressive Insurance

VERY (dis)Honorable mention:

Phillips Colon Health.

Trojan.
Porn/phone sex hotlines/sex chats in general. Seriously, not to be a prude or anything, but I'm pretty sure people know how to find that kind of thing on their own.

  • Empire Carpet (at least until they change that God-forsaken jingle, which hasn't changed in 100 years)
  • All used-car-lot commercials. WTF IS UP WITH THE SHOUTING?!!!!!!! (maybe even ALL car commercials, who the hell is stupid enough to buy a car based on commercials?? Oh wait- nearly EVERYbody.)
  • Any cosmetic item touting blatantly false claims, which is pretty much ALL of them. Let's face it- if something really could eliminate wrinkles/stretch marks/belly fat/age spots, it would make the front page of every newspaper around the world.

Dishonorable mentions: Rx drugs that "heal" such "ailments" as thin eyelashes, or any that suggests you ask your doctor for them w/o actually telling you what they're FOR. Confused

You should 'learn to love' the used car dealer....or, well, at least understand that some of those that have 'learned to love' have also found multiple uses for their local used car dealer...

Not sure about all 3, but Geico is definitely one of them.

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  I saw the subject and those three companies instantly came to my head.  Think of how much better TV commercial viewing would be without these horrifying entities filling our brainwaves with their obnoxious trash.  Oh, for a world where the only TV Flo was a sassy waitress on Alice.  Where geckos didn't have some indeterminate Kiwi-esque accent, where guys in leather jackets, aviator sunglasses, and handlebar mustaches didn't care about car insurance because they lived in Chelsea or the Haight.  No '21st Century here,' and some silent freak doing a little pantomime on screen narrated by the most irritating voice ever.

These three offenders probably account for 60-70% of the commercials I am confronted with.

Since you took my top three, in exact order, here's my next three:

Miller
DirecTV
Apple

1. Geico
2. AT&T
3. HHGregg - Mainly for the Christmas ad atrocities.

Dishonorable Mention:
Subway. I'm sick of the little kid voices for grown men, and people stealing eachother's sandwiches. In what f**king universe is it acceptable to take someone's food and eat it?
Maybe in prison.

If I Could Fit More:
Best Buy.
Progressive.
Drug companies.
Condoms/lubricant companies.
