Should we? Just noticed this ad for the first time today.

One of the less-offensive McDonald's commercials, though they all irritate me my default!

Mom's comment: "As pickup lines go, 'would you like to share my nuggets' seems like the worst."

Even worse: "Would you like to nibble on my nuggets??" Stern Smile Broken Heart

(That would work coming from a woman to a guy, but pretty much ANYthing would work in that case!)

She is odd looking. Like her eyes are too high.

The old guy does look familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

I guess a worse pick up line from McDonalds would be "Wanna attack my Mac?"

It's an overall good commercial in my opinion.  People are acting normal.
A wiser older person is giving good advice to a younger person without being snarky or rude.
The younger person accepts the advice without being snarky or rude.

Never thought of it that way - kind of puts a feel-good spin on it.

I still hate it, because they're advertising the buying of food from the MOST COMMON fast food joint out there as something brilliant or smart.

For me the commercial works also because the concept isn't outlandish.  People do like McDonald's food.  People do like McNuggets and if I was still a young guy and some cute young girl wanted to share her 20 piece meal with me, I'd be pretty psyched.

FYI...the older guy's name is Gregory White.  He's had small parts in a lot of stuff, most recently an episode of Parks and Recreation.

As absurd as the concept is, at least the characters aren't obnoxious, disgusting or annoying.

That's what makes me hate a commercial more than anything... putting people in them who are so annoying I just want to reach into the TV & choke them.

...the ads take aim and lay their claim to the heart and the soul of the spender

We don't think about it much, but free TV needs corporate sponsorships to survive so I bet corporations like McDonald's get advertising from the networks to put ads on with them all the time.

So when they do, they gotta come up with something to put there and I'm all for non obnoxious.
