These ads for AAMCO Transmission Repair have been running for awhile now & they seem to just be getting stupider & stupider.

I'm sure you've all seen them.... they're the ones where the AAMCO customer is trying to describe what kind of noise their car is making.

I guess they're just trying to be funny & entertaining & I certainly appreciate the effort.... but this sh*t is just too damned irritating to excuse...

Here's the latest one:

This is one of the earlier ones:

Never seen this one before:

God please make them stop!!!!!!! Cry Sick Dead

WinkThanks for providing yet ANOTHER reason we choose to not live 'South of the Border'!
What an irratating commercial...you certainly have it in the right forum, ol'Mule.
Note:
Aamco once replaced a transmission on a Mercedes for me (hey! *I* didn't buy the f'king thing! It was a 'Birthday Present') - I made many of those noises after shelling out $3k and driving a rental car for a month, and *never* having the tranny right for the life of that POS.

They should show the "sound effects" after looking at the bill. AAMCO is a ripoff. Been there once, never again.

Pa & Tiz.... that's exactly the same kind of thing I've always heard about them.

They did a "sting" operation around here once years & years ago where they put brand new rebuilt transmissions some in cars, maybe disconnected some minor linkage or whatever & took them to several area AAMCO shops, claiming there was something wrong.

In almost every case, they were told the tranny needed to be completely rebuilt for a very large fee.

Never been there, never gonna go.

I try to stay away from automatic transmissions if I can anyway.

These ads really, really annoy me (especially the 2nd one posted above where the woman looks at the employee all expectantly), but the one woman in the new ad going "womp womp womp" actually made me laugh the first time since it looked like she was having a seizure, especially with her serious look at the beginning. LOL  However, I couldn't stomach this ad more than once, so I do hate it.
Welcome to Commercial Land. This is a magical place where all women look up while eating, and it is perfectly acceptable to slurp the hell out of a Dannon yogurt cup.

They are almost as bad as when my 2 short bus kitties decide "hey lets hurl up dinner/hairballs in a hard to reach place." Especially the original one which was the longest when that metrosexual wimp goes "kaaaannng" Then the clean grad school mechanic says its just your widget farting or whatever and he says "ohhhhh." He seems to be the type that was beaten up and molested in school and he liked it.

How desperate do you have to be for cash to do a commercial like that?

I would have to be dying of starvation with my ribs poking out of me to even consider doing a commercial like that.

What happened to personal pride and respect for yourself?

Some people are just slaves to the money.

There are worse things to do for money. However these commercials are stupid.
Want to discuss doing something for a buck; The new depends commercials with buff hottie Lisa Rinna being asked to wear a pair of Depends adult fart catchers (diapers) is just plain creepy!

The stills from this commercial make me sick enough.  Glad I haven't seen it.  It that guy seriously running his finger down her ass to check for a "Depends line?"  That is just freaking disgusting.
