In the early 2000s, when some friends' son was a baby, I was subjected non-stop to Elmopalooza.  It replaced that Baby Einstein crap, and was eventually replaced by non-stop showings of Shrek.

Yuck, to all of it.

Cookie monster should eat Elmo to get rid of Elmo's annoyingness.
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

I only wish Classic 70s Sesame Street was back on TV--alongside I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke, Taxi, Bewitched, All in the Family, etc....

I think you just talked about MeTV.

But for this Elmomania...I really think there should be Elmo's evil twin brother Emo to be on Sesame Street.

I wonder what the Tickle-me Emo Xtreme would be like?
Thank God for kids who love Obscure Things.

Of course they do. They have several much better characters they could make merchandise out of but unfortunately Elmo is what moves merchandise so they flood the market with stuff with his likeness. Ever since the original Tickle Me Elmo craze Elmo has pretty much taken over everything Sesame Street.
