The Halls commercial in the early 90's where some fat guys sitting in a sauna tell a coughing and congested guy ,"Breathe my tasty friend!" So creepy. And before that his young son and his young daughter straight up tell their obviously sick Dad "Come on Dad, your bumming us out!" Is annoying. How about having compassion for their obviously sick Dad? Is my single most hated commercial of all time! How about you guys? What is your single most hated commercial of all time?
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D. :D $608 for her brother's scooter. Fair is fair my ass. Being tough on Public Access TV is priceless.

OK, Donna. I'll play along.  But you have to swear, put your hand on your lap and promise to the FA that you are not...

Big smileGood to see you back, Donathan! We've been stuck with some doozies since you were last around. For some reason, I think I would argue on your behalf if someone accused you of being 'True Lies' (I just do not see you as being that obnoxious).

aka? You have ruined my day with that contribution.

I think that was "my pasty friend".

It's very hard to pick just one... Well, off the top of my head, I've always hated this one and since the first time I saw it, I've had to MUTE it every single time it aired afterwards...

And there was also this one... 1 watch, and had to MUTE forever after...

Mom would be in another room and noticed the TV gone quiet. She'd be like "Did you MUTE the TV?" And I'd be like "No... just channel surfing..." Embarrassed

We used to run an annual 'Dick Punch Awards' for the worst commercials of the year. I've seen SO MANY terrible ones, this one currently sticks out above and beyond the rest at this time:

Very hard to choose, but this one encapsulates everything I hate about commercials...

When a true genius enters the world, you will know him by this sign; all the dunces will be in confederacy against him....

If I put more thought into it, there are probably hundreds I could list in this topic.  But the one that comes to mind first is the Michelin Tire commercial series of the late 80s and 90s with a baby sitting in a tire and the announcer saying, "Because SO MUCH is riding on your tires."

I suppose what got me more than the actual commercial itself was the absence of outrage by the American public.  Didn't they realize that was a threat??  Michelin was saying, "If you don't have Michelin tires on your car and you get into an accident and your baby dies..............LET IT BE ON YOUR HEAD!"

We had a couple of advertising executives speak to a communications class I was taking in college during this time.  I spoke to them during the break and asked them if my interpretation of the Michelin commercial was accurate and they said, "Oh yes!  Without question."  It's amazing what people do get upset about and what they don't get upset about - you'd have thought this would have been high on their list.

Something to look forward to...……………..

In our future...………….

They will be selling horse chit as a "food supplement" and they will do it cheerfully.

Of course there will be large breasted females.   And men that can lift 4,000 lbs.  over their heads. A cheery song. And maybe flowers...…………………

Lets all hope CIH is still around...…………….

Big smileGreat points, N6! Thank You!

That immediately brought back memories of the old Subaru 'They Survived' series of commercials that really bothered me along with reminding of the little jewel from a few years back which fits what you say to a 'T':

I wonder what Michelin would have to say for themselves if someone DID by all four Michelin tires, had an accident, and their baby/babies died as a result...
