2 packs of cigarettes in New York at $12 each every day equals $8,760 a year! Holy crap, this fact is startling! If you are thinking of quitting, let this staggering amount be the jolt to cement your want to quit!
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D. :D $608 for her brother's scooter. Fair is fair my ass. Being tough on Public Access TV is priceless.

$8,760.00 a year? I could go on a Mission Trip to Brazil (TWO if I don't fly first class like Flavio did LOL), and have enough moola left over to spend a week at the best amusement park on the planet (That's Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana for those of you in Rio Linda!). Big smile
Where will you be when the lights go out on August 21st?

Mr. Tim! Please repost, I can't see anything.

Alright Donna, I've got some information for your rump bumping ass.

I have 2 properties in the McDonalds Monopoly game, I have NEVER taken the time to look into this till now.

I have Marvin Gardens, a $25,000 winner if I get all three.
I need Ventnor and Atlantic Ave.
I see how Mickey D's is doing this, put out a ton of winners for 2 of the 3 properties.

I also have North Carolina Ave., $50,000!
They are paying $1,000,000 for Park Place and Boardwalk.

What are the odds?  I'll try to find the commercial. LOL

"Holy crap, this fact is startling! If you are thinking of quitting, let this staggering amount be the jolt to cement your want to quit!"

Change that comment to this:
Holy crap, this fact is startling! If you are thinking of starting, let this staggering amount be the jolt to cement your want to not start smoking!

That or drive down here and buy a few cartons at a time. Around $4 a pack.

Your odds are zero, because, if the game repeats past history, the only big winners are relatives of the people running the McDonalds Monopoly game (which happened several times...)

How is this a stupid thread, Mr. Tim? I am pointing out how just smoking cigarrettes in New York costs $8,700 a year when you could have bought a used car and then went on a nice vacation Cruise to Mexico and bought a new wardrobe with that money.

[/QUOTE]It reminds me of the car dealerships that mail scratch-off ads. Cash prizes are $1 to $10,000. I always scratch them off to confirm that every one is a winner. Of course you have to go to the dealership to discover how much you won. I'm guessing 99.99% of the winners are $1. The odds of the handful of winners exceeding $1 making their way to the dealership barely exists. Pretty cheap way of getting suckers into the showroom.LOL

I have a used car.  I have enough clothes.  I don't care about cruises to Mexico or anywhere.  I'll stick with smoking.

And I could take the $1,200 per year spent on smoking and buy lottery tickets, scratch-offs, and shove the rest into gambling machines for no return on my "investment".

I smoke around 2 packs a day, and it only costs me around  $40 a month. So what's that? $480 a year? Of course I roll  my own, but they taste better, and the tobacco that I buy has a lot less additives than the national brands.

But Sg, buying lottery tickets and playing slots is healthier than putting smoke and carcinogens in your body.

Yeah, I think that's kind of the idea behind it. As well as a giant cash grab by the State.

I read in New York, the NY State puts a high cigarette tax to nudge people to stop smoking. Hey, smoke if you want to, but here, we will charge you $5 extra than what it is in Mliam, Florida! Enjoy the Cigarette tax, suckers!"
