There's a few different ones out there. One has a girl that can actually sing. Not sure, but it sounds like Peach Martine.

Here's the TV commercial I usually see. Looks like 1980.

I don't hate these commercials, but they are somewhat depressing. It reminds me of these Peter Pan children's records I had as a kid. They had some kind of inapproprately depressing songs on them. Just Google Peter Pan records unicorn song, and check out the horrorshow cover of the album. Now imagine being 5 and seeing that.

The Kars 4 Kids commercials have returned!
I heard that Don Imus made snarky comments about this radio commercial...even stations that rely on commercials HATE commercials...pure irony! |

Don Imus made snarky comments about everything. That was kind of his thing. |

Sparks had a song in the 70s called Bon Voyage with a similar theme: Noah's Ark from the standpoint of the animals who couldn't get on.
Clouds forming on the gospel sky, trouble is about to brew on us It didn't matter that we tried, they can only take a few of us The fins and the paws and hooves and feet Saunter up the gangway The randomest sampling is complete God, could there be someway That I could, wear a hood Or by the way I stood Sneak aboard with you Imitate, Imitate, Imitate, Imitate, They still know its you Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage, peace be with all of you I wish that I, I wish that I, were one of you Tears falling on the sloping sand, They're about to leave and we will stay All governed by the rules of chance, They're about to leave and we will stay Goodbye to my lucky friends and foes, Glad that we could know you Everyone sends their last hello, I wish that we could join you Two of you Two of them Two of those Two of them Safety for the few Two of you Two of them Two of those Two of them They will start anew Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage Peace be with all of you I wish that I, I wish that I, I wish that I Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage Bickering, Dickering, Bickering, Dickering, Everything that moves Bickering, Dickering, Bickering, Dickering, Final, futile moves Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage, Peace be with all of you I wish that I, I wish that I, I wish that I Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage Bon voyage, bon voyage |

Were they trying to sound like Queen?

I see the similarity, but they were considered an influence on Queen. Also, they were around several years before Queen. Very odd "band" (mainly two brothers). Fifty years and 20-something albums later, and they're still putting out music. I haven't really liked much of their post-70s stuff. |

Sparks biggest song is the progressive rock-ish song "This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us".... |

Yeah. Thanks for posting that. Hadn't listened to it in awhile. A lotta bands mention Sparks as a big influence on them. Funny, though---I don't like any of those artists. |
